Cheerleading practice, gym, afternoon

Buffy beamed brightly. "Welcome to our new cheerleaders!"

She held up two folders. "I've been looking at the competitions, and I've picked two you can look right now and say if you like or not." She handed out a copy of each to everyone. "Read them before next practice and let me know then!"

Folder one has information on a One Day Virgina Competition in February, the second folder has information on the CrossWorld Cheerleading Championship starting in April and ending in May. If you get past the opening rounds, of course.

"Okay! Let's work out!"

Marie figured it would be a bad idea to actually attempt to cheer today, but she was there if anyone needed to talk with her.

Jamie gave Marie a look as though she was nuts. "And you're not in bed relaxing because?"

"Because I didn't want to miss practice even though I can't cheer?" Marie asked. She'd forgotten Jamie was on the squad now. Oops.

Jamie sighed and crossed his arms. "So I'm guessing me telling you to go back to your room and take it easy is going to be met with stubborness and general refusal?"

Marie nodded. "I'm not an invalid."

"Well then I guess I'll just have to keep you company," Jamie replied grabbing the seat next to Marie.

"You can go work out," Marie told him. "I promise I'll behave. The last thing I want is to end up back in the clinic so I'm definitely going to take it easy."

Jamie smiled and shook his head. "Haven't you learned anything about me?"

He stomped his foot and created a duplicate. "You. Go work out."

The duplicate looked at Marie and gave Jamie a sulky look.

"You heard me."

"Fine!" The duplicate said and stomped off to due his cheerleading duties.

"See? I'm a vital part of the team and an excellent boyfriend."

Marie laughed. "I'm very lucky," she said. "But really, I'm fine."

"So you don't want your boyfriend spending time with you?" Jamie asked laying it thick with the puppy dog eyes.

"You know that's not what I meant," Marie said, giving him a look that told him the puppy dog eyes weren't working. "I just don't want you to think you need to take care of me."

"But hanging out with you is still okay, right?" Jamie said persisting with the puppy dog eyes.

"Yes, it's fine," Marie said. "As long as you promise not to nag."

"What about badgering? Can I badger?" Jamie teased. "Or should I just sit here and be mesmerized by your beauty?"

"Or you can just tell me how your day was," Marie suggested.

"I sent SPAM to people in my computer class," Jamie said with a shrug. "Then I came here and saw you sitting here. Way I figure? Day just got a whole lot better."

Marie smiled. "I slept in this morning, ate breakfast, took a shower, took a nap, ate lunch, went to class and now I'm here. And after practice, I'm planning to go back to my room and crawl in bed with a book."

"Did you want any company?" Jamie offered.

Then he realized what it sounded like right after Marie mentioned crawling bed.

"Um. I mean just like hanging out. In your room. Not in the bed."

"I wouldn't mind," Marie said. "As long as you don't mind if I fall asleep on you."

Jamie grinned. "Actually? I wouldn't mind a bit."

Marie smiled back. "Then we have a date."

"I think there must be some mistake..." Z said. That'd teach her to do her best.

Show off your moves to the newbies!

Jamie sits off to the side. "So are we going to be doing any specific routines?"

"We have a couple we did during summer, but we haven't started working on anything new yet," Buffy explained. She grinned. "We were waiting for you guys!"

"Okay but if any of you bring up spirit fingers? We're going to have problems," Jamie said with a slight shiver.

Pippi is practicing doing "flippy stuff".

That's a technical term.

Molly went through the routines from the summer to show the new people.

Seely stretched and watched the other cheerleaders routines.

I rented Bring it On 3 today. I wasn't gonna, but Claire Bennett is in it, omg!

Am working on assignment for Friday, so will be offline a lot.
