Around the Grounds; Monday Evening.

After much consideration, the best way to deal with the ache in her back from putting her wings back in was to let them out again. Even better, she could let them out and spend some time with a good friend who had been spending too much time in his room with his book and not enough time talking with her. Especially since the last time they talked, there was...gulp...Pactio talk.

Her wings unfurled from her back the moment the stepped out of the dormitory and began their idly stroll. As they stretched out and got comfortable, Setsuna turned to Alphonse with a small smile. "You sure you don't mind?"

"In the end, I guess that's what matters." Alphonse shook his head, softly laughing at himself. "This place will never make sense."

"So you don't have Halloween where you're from, Alphonse?" THe thought seemed to make Setsuna a little sad.

"No, nothing like it," he answered. "There's some people who think stuff like ghosts exist, but it's all just make believe, and no one celebrates about it..."

"Heh, well....I guess it is kind of a strange one, isn't it? I'm sure there's some reason behind it, but I don't really know what it is."

"I don't imagine everyone would," Alphonse said. "Then again, I'm going to end up surprised if getting dressed up and getting free candy does have some big history behind it."

Setsuna chuckled at him a little. "And I bet there's some part of you right now that's already planning to go to the library and look it up, isn't there?"

Alphonse crossed his arms against his chest. "Don't know what makes you think that," he said innocently.

Setsuna chuckled. "Gee. I wonder. I haven't even seen you all week..."

"Well," he began, facing down in front of him uneasily. "I was sort of occupied with other things the first few days. But not so much now." Alphonse faced her again. "And I'm here now." He then made what could be best described as a near-pouty look. "You all say it like it's a bad thing."

Setsuna bit her lip, a little unsure how much of that pouty-look was genuine and how much he was just joking. "I was only teasing, Alphonse," she said with a small smile, just in case.

"I know," Alphonse said, going back to his content expression. "Is it really that odd?" he asked curiously. "I mean, that I tend to read a lot?"

"It's not odd at all," Setsuna said, smiling and shaking her head. "It's actually kind of cute..." The warm smile remained on her face for a second before she realized what she had said. "Err, I mean, umm..."

Insert nervous laugh here.

Alphonse glanced up at her with a strange mix of a facial expression, both surprised and awkward. He immidiately went back to staring towards the ground, and could almost feel his cheeks starting to burn red. It was probably a good thing it was already dark out.

"It's, ah--" he faltered at first, trying to get his mind back on track. "... Always what I felt comfortable doing, that's all."

"Have you gotten to those books that the Library Exploration Club sent over?" Setsuna blurted out quickly, eager to keep the conversation moving back into safer territory.

"Oh!" Alphonse clapped his hands together as he remembered about them. "Right, right!" he eagerly began. "They are actually very interesting, and I've been enjoying reading them. But," his sudden excitement seemed to deflate down. "I don't think they have very much about the stone, either."

Setsuna nodded, looking a little thoughtful. "They did tell me this was just the top of the iceburg, and that they have lots more for you, too, if you're interested. I should really just get you the address to send them back whenever you're ready. I, unfortunately, can't magic things back and forth like Yue and Nodoka seem to have picked up on."

Alphonse nodded. "Is the library there kind of like here, where they have nearly every kind of book there?"

Setsuna nodded. "It's one of the biggest libraries in the world. While I have heard no reports of the library itself trying to eat people, I have heard from trustworthy sources that there are Guardians protecting the place and threatening to kill you if you don't get English questions correct."

Alphonse gave her an odd look at the last part, but shook it off quickly. "Perhaps they wouldn't mind if I requested certain books, then," he mused. "I think at the rate things are going, I'm better off seeing if I can find any alchemist's logs."

"I doubt they'd mind at all," Setsuna said with a nod of her head. "Remind me later and I'll write down the contact information for you."

"That'd be great, thanks! Hopefully they'll be able to tell if they do have any logs." Alphonse tilted his head slightly. "I know the names of some well-known alchemists in my world, but come to think of it, I don't know if there are any in this one I could specifically request for..."

"Mmm, well, you know that I don't know anything about the subject, but the girls definately might. Or maybe someone here, if you want to do your own research..."

She grinned. "Because, yeah. You and research. We know how much you hate that."
