5th Floor Common Room, Monday Morning

Buffy and Pip walked into the common room, carrying a large, awkward looking package. JD followed behind them, looking a bit useless. He pointed to the middle of the floor.

"Let's just set him down here."

((OOC: JD's got a new toy. Open if you want to come and see, and, also, for all your common room wants and desires.))

Buffy headed in the direction JD pointed. "Here?"

JD nodded, "That's perfect." He clapped his hands together and bounced a little in his excitement.

"What is it, anyway?" Buffy asked, poking the package curiously.

JD grinned, taking some scissors out of his pocket and going after the tape.

After a bit of work, he managed to get the tape off and started unwrapping the paper, revealing what looked to be a very large, taxadermied yellow labrador retriever.

JD stood back and admired it.

"I got him on ebay."

Isn't he beautiful.

Pippi flounced in.

"Morning!"

JD waved, the slight sound of angelic music filling his ears as Pippi entered the room.

"Hi Pippi! Wanna meet my new friend?" He motioned to the stuffed labrador retriever in the middle of the common room.

JD beamed. "I'm glad someone thinks so." He shot a look at Buffy, who was likely still staring in horror.

"He just came in today. I'm still working on a name."

Nadia wandered into the common room in search of sandwhich leftovers, and did a double take at the dog.

"Um, wow,"

JD grinned, waving at Nadia. "His name is Laddie!"

"Laddie. Huh. Why?"

"What do you mean why? I can't call him Lassie. He's a boy."

"I'm almost sure it's not a student," Buffy said, still staring at the dog.

"That's always a plus. Is it . . . alive?"

"No. Well, I'm almost sure not," Buffy amended. It was Fandom. You never know. Dead dogs could come back to life.

"So..." Pip said as he stared at the box. "Dead dog. Why?"

"Don't have to worry about housebreaking it?" Pippi mused.

"...Possibly?" Pip said, briefly leaning down to kiss Pippi.

Pippi stretches up on her toes to kiss him back.

"Morning."

"That's what I'm wondering. Maybe he can't afford dog food?"

"I can't always afford cat food. That hasn't stopped me."
