Outside the Dorms: Thursday 10 AM

Lana got there a little early to stretch out before Conner arrived. It was a little colder so she wanted to make sure she was really well warmed up and ready to run.

Conner only had one sweatshirt on today when he showed up. He winced just a little bit as he did his stretches, hoping his face didn't show it too much.

"Hey, Lana! Survive the aftermath of the last run okay?"

Conner propped his left leg up on one of the bench railings and leaned forward, feeling his hamstrings pull. "No point in leaving them to be rodent bait, is there?" he asked. "You were right, it was plenty warm without them."

"Interesting," Conner said with a bewildered chuckle. "We, uh, had to try and build functioning devices out of coconuts and things you'd find on a deserted island."

"Nothing that would have done about half the people on the deserted island any good, I'm guessing" he said honestly. Explaining that you ended up making a coconut-shell bra was kind of embarrassing on several different levels.

Conner shook his head. "Nah. Played soccer in the rain more times than I can count anyway."

[OOC: Argh, apologies for the super-slow response time. :(]

"Ready if you are," Conner told her after he'd made sure his shoes were tied.

Conner fell into step beside her, deciding that this weather was really invigorating for a run. "This could get interesting in the snow," he mused. "Does it even snow that much around here?"

"Once or twice, when my brother dragged me along on his snowboarding trips. And it usually involved getting in the car and driving for a couple of hours just to get there," Conner replied. He looked slightly disappointed that the white Christmas he'd been envisioning wasn't quite going to happen. "And then we never stayed overnight. I always wondered what it'd be like to wake up to snow."

Conner's expression shifted to one of relief. "Well, that's good to know," he said cheerfully. "Up for a sprint to the end of the block?"

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2006-11-17 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Which took Conner by surprise, since he'd been planning on doing a whole 'ready-set-go' routine, and today he had to try and catch up.

"Hey!" he burst out, laughing as he sprinted after her.

Conner could have passed her pretty easily, that was true. He was feeling like a good sport today, though, and only passed her by several strides.

"Sneaky," he said with an approving grin, glancing back over his shoulder.

"Oh, I see what it is." Conner shook a finger at her playfully. "You're helping to plot the overthrow of tall people, aren't you?"

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2006-11-17 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Conner started slowing his stride as they reached the end of the block. "Aha. And you're . . . what, recruiting me to be your secret double agent?"

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2006-11-18 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Conner had gotten in front of her by a few steps by now, so he turned around and started jogging backwards, just because. "Nice moustache," he teased. "So I'd be hiding in plain sight, huh? That could be fun . . ."

And she'd just hit his weak spot.

Conner almost stopped running, and his face lit up with an almost comical expression, some combination of surprise and eagerness with a dash of puppydog. "Oh, that's it. Sign me up!"

Conner scratched the back of his head sheepishly and admitted, "Friends back home used to tell me I'm easy that way. Don't go spreading that around, though," he added, shaking his finger in playful warning.

Billy'd not slept too well the night before, less worried about what he'd thought the lamp had been, as he was that he'd briefly thought it was anything other than a lamp. In any case he'd gotten up early and was just now returning from running.

"Hey you two."

[identity profile] l1ttle-billy.livejournal.com 2006-11-16 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"Pretty good, pretty good. You?"

[identity profile] l1ttle-billy.livejournal.com 2006-11-16 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not too bad a morning for it so far. Just got back myself."

[identity profile] l1ttle-billy.livejournal.com 2006-11-17 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Yep."
