Gym, Evening

After stopping by the office and not seeing her name on the detention sheet, Sam had gone back to bed, then spent the day doing her homework.

Now she was stretching and waiting for Jack.

"Yeah, I'm tough," Sam nodded. "I'm just going to be sore tomorrow."

"I'm going to be aching," he admitted, then pulled off his head gear. "And I think I'm ready to stop for today. I'll come down, work on the bag, build some endurance before next time."

"Running and weight training will help, too," Sam said, moving a little slowly. She'd need to ice herself when she got back to her room. "Hot shower, or a soak in epsom salts if you can find someone with a tub."

"What about someone with a shower to share?" Now that they'd stopped, he did what he'd wanted to do before, putting his gloved hands carefully against her sides. "Mine's just upstairs, with plenty of room for two."

Sam winced slightly at the pressure. "As fabulous as that sounds, I think I just want to de-slime and go to bed."

Jack winced in sympathy and pulled his hands away to start stripping off his padding. "Okay. You can still use the shower if you want. And I'll be happy to help - completely innocently," he said with a smile. "With the desliming, if you want someone to scrub your back."

Hmmm. To use the shower in the hall, or use the private one in Jack's room. "I'll take you up on at least the first offer, and maybe the second."

"How about you come upstairs with me, use the shower while I make you a cup of tea, and if you need me, you can just yell," he suggested. "You've got clothes in my room, or you can borrow something of mine. Then I'll leave you in peace."

"If I didn't love you before..." Sam started, hanging up the gloves and the rest of her equipment as she walked carefully out of the gym, "I'd certainly love you for that offer alone."

Jack followed her, as he'd been doing since he came in, hanging his stuff up and falling into step beside her. "But you did, and you do." He brushed his shoulder lightly against hers. "And so do I. Which works out nicely."
