Third Floor Common Room, Saturday Afternoon

Dawn meant to be studying. She had a ton of work to do, after all, not the least of which was memorizing demon traps. So, her notebook was out, as were the handouts from Hunting, and she had a protractor, a ruler, and a pencil, and she had been practicing drawing the designs, right up to the point where she got hungry about ten minutes after she started working.

So now she was engaged in experimental food assembly--after doing some foraging, she grabbed an apple, a banana, some raisins and dried apricots, a couple of flour tortillas, a jar of crunchy peanut butter, and the container of marshmallow fluff. Kind of the Dawn take on burritos, but it probably wouldn't be fatal.

[ooc: Open, as common rooms are. Experimental cooking and/or non-lethal study group, anyone?]

Chad took the jar and set to the task of dropping a generous portion onto his confection. "Yeah. For the most part. I try not to worry about stuff like that. How 'bout you?"

"That's gonna have to be a pretty industrious demon," Chad said, not without a little widening of his eyes and an almost critical look down at Dawn. He had a hope that she was just joking, but, around here, he tried not to take anything for granted.

Chad scratched his head a little, not sure if the explaination helped. "So the two, the loosed demon and the ruining of literature, aren't mutually exclusive?"

Chad grunted a little thoughtfully. "Is it...weird that put the two together like that?"

He also considered what exams he was in the possibility of failing. History. Science. Religon. Music. All relatively in the realm of typical academic uselessness. Except music. Either way, he should pick better classes next time...

"Uhhh, my stuff's boring," Chad said. "History, science, religon, music....Music's always fun, though. Science, too, 'cause it's not a usual science class. It has an exclaimation point."

"I never really liked singin' much either," Chad said, noticing his rumble particularly because the topic made him conscious of his voice, "but y'get used to it. An' I do like my classes. They're so much more interesting here than at my old school."

"Mostly average, big city Japanese school. Apathetic teachers, except the crazy ones who were too concerned to a fault, super-competitive 'cause it was Japanese...Like it better here, though I kinda miss some of my friends."

Chad shook his head. "Nah, don't have enough money to go back to Japan. An', if I did, I'd actually use it to go back home to Mexico. Maybe next year, though."

"Stayin' here, I guess. Don't got no where else to go. What about you? You a little luckier in that area?"

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2006-12-16 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, 'least we won't be alone, then..."

"Wellll," Chad said with a hinting sort of tone in his voice, "Pippi an' I were actually talking about having a Christmas Pool Party for all of us hang-arounds."

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2006-12-16 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"M'sure we could always use an extra hand," Chad nodded, grinning a bit for the squealing and happy bouncing. "Pippi's probably gonna do most of it, so maybe talk to her? I'll pro'lly just hang up decorations."
