The Roof, Monday After Midnight

After getting the message Ranma left him, Teddy felt the need to get some air. He was happy that Ranma was going to find his mom, but he couldn't help but feel a little jealous.

Especially today.

He took a seat, legs hanging over the edge of the building and looking out over the town. "Merry Christmas Mom."

After tricking him out into the hallway, then leaving him alone in the room for a while, Chad really owed it to Mizu to take him out. He didn't want to take another long, late night walk into town (he also hadn't wanted to bring Mizu along to the causeway; he needed the solitude), so he went up to the roof. Not like he was going to get much sleep right now, anyway...

He felt a sharp tug at the leash as Mizu started bouncing forward excitedly. Chad jogged a bit to keep up with him until he saw what had caught Mizu's attention. "Oh. Hey, Teddy."

Mizu was very quickly pawing excitedly at Teddy's back. Chad was holding the leash tightly, because, dammit, they were close to the edge here.

Mizu was hoping maybe at least Teddy would let him stay and play with them, unlike that other friend of Chad's. He happily accepted the attention, tail wagging.

"Yeah, no kidding," said Chad, a little less happy to see the one person who would make him feel awkward right now. He did try to return the grin, though; he didn't want it to seem like he might actually be inflicted with his own brand of emo. He was the Chad. He wasn't supposed to get emo.

"Um," Chad rubbed his free hand on the back of his neck. There was no point in trying to act like everything was okay. "I...talked to Jude."

"He said he needs time," Chad said, finally joining Teddy on the ledge, "to think about stuff."

Chad was looking out at the sky. "M'gonna have to be."

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2006-12-26 07:17 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't want you feeling back about this, Ted," Chad said, keeping his gaze ahead. "Ya didn't do anything wrong."

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2006-12-26 07:27 am (UTC)(link)
Chad didn't respond to Teddy's hand on his, but he didn't pull away, either. "M'okay," he assured him.

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2006-12-26 07:34 am (UTC)(link)
Chad grunted a little. "Y'ever really know me as one to talk, Ted?"

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2006-12-26 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
Chad turned away from the horizon to look at Teddy. "An' you didn't talk then, either."

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2006-12-26 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
Chad had only said it to make a point; he really didn't mean to pressure Teddy into feeling like he should talk. So he just hoped Teddy had told him that because he had wanted to, not because he felt oblidged.

"A war?" he asked, keeping an unfaltered gaze of attention focused on him.

There was a long pause as Chad let this roll over in his head; what would it be like if the same sort of 'regulation' with people like him. People who could see and use spirit energy like him and his friends. It didn't sit well with him at all; it felt a lot like what they had tried to do with Rukia.

"...that's terrible..."

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2006-12-26 08:07 am (UTC)(link)
Chad tentatively moved over, close enough so that he could wrap his arms around Teddy in a hug. "...Did they?" he asked, quietly.

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2006-12-26 08:11 am (UTC)(link)
The hug tightened significantly. "Dios, Ted..."

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2006-12-26 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
"S'why I didn't push," Chad said, not relenting his embrace. "I knew you'd tell me when you were ready..."

Mizu was starting to squirm a little; he liked all the hugs, but this was getting a little much. Really.

Chad was feeling about the opposite of the puppy. "Anytime," he said.
