Okay, so it wasn't the best planned or fanciest party in the world. There weren't any streamers or banners, just a few hand-scrawled signs on printer paper reading "We're Bored, So Let's Party!" There wasn't even a theme really, but that sort of was the theme, as he and Nadia had concluded yesterday. Besides, Anders was tired and not exactly up to his usual standard of movement. Plus, they were saving all the decorations and planning for the real party, after all the new kids arrived. Oh yes. ~~Mwahahaha.~~

Small tables of snacks, food, and drinks (and of course the ubiquitous supply of cupcakes, since this was after all Anders) had been laid out on all the landings between the first and fifth floors, and the common rooms had been raided for chairs and seat cushions to form makeshift seating areas in the hallways near the stairwells.

Hey, an impromptu party was better than boredom, right?

Chips, sodas, bottled water, non-carbonated beverages, pizza, the ubiquitous baked goods, and -- looking out of place amidst all the junk food -- salad. Just to assuage Anders's guilty conscience about the junk food.

Where you . . . you know, do the mingling thing. As if you don't mingle when you're eating anyway.

Slide down the banisters with caution, and try not to fall down the stairs?

Nadia came along and added a big bottle of hot sauce to every table of food she came across.

She might have been slightly manic after her bad morning.

Nadia also added small stereos, walkmen with speakers, computers, whatever she could locate or happened to own that played music, to each landing. A cheerful mix of ~~whatever modded music you like~~ was playing. Each floor might have had a theme. More likely, each floor had whatever came out of Nadia's CD case first.

AND BECAUSE WE LIKE TO SHOW OFF OUR NEW OOC ICONS, OMG.

Mmmmmm! Hot sauce!

Pippi slides down the banisters with wild abandon.

"Hey, Pippi. Pip doing any better?"

Anders eyed the contribution dubiously but gave her a thumbs-up. "I knew we were missing something!"

Anders yelped as Pippi went whizzing by.

Then he decided that looked like fun, and took off after her, impending pain be damned.

"I'm always willing to provide a little spice." Nadia smiled. "But it's always optional, too."

Pippi shrugged.

"I don't know ~~he never replied to my ping on his room post so he probably lost connection or he hates me :P~~ I'm not a doctor. I think so, but that could just be wishful thinking... I might take him some of this stuff though, just to see what happens."

Don't ask her how she does it, but when Pippi hits the bottom, she starts sliding back up the way she came.

Right at Anders.

She's going pretty fast too.

"Hey, spice is the opposite of boredom, or something, right?" Anders replied. He considered for a moment, and decided to try some of it as salad dressing.

. . . well, it definitely wasn't boring.

A bottle of water later he added, "So. How was your morning?"

"Hot sauce is really good for clearing out your sinuses."

"Ugh," replied Nadia eloquently. "A party is just what I need."

There was a devil's glint in her eye.

"I was just thinking that."

"Are you going to warn him first? Or just spike his NyQuil?"

"Oh of course I will warn him, but you know guys... All you have to do is say 'It's really spicy, are you sure you can handle it?'... And they want to chug the bottle."

Chad had to admit. He kinda liked the sort of party where you walk out of your hallway to go do something and, oooh, party.

He especially liked it when it was accompanied with oooh, food. Although he did feel a slight flare of complaint that a party on the stairwell might be a little discriminatory to certain people still not technically mobile, until he reminded himself that there was food, and that the certain person he had in mind didn't pay a lot of attention to that technicality at all.

"Oooo, good point. Always insult his manhood to get him to do what you want him to."

Billy stuck mostly to the salad, to make up for all the junk food he'd eaten in the past week or so.
