2nd floor common room, Thursday afternoon

Miley dumped her last suitcase on the floor and flopped onto a couch. Even with only bringing the essentials, she was carrying way more luggage than the average 14 year old should have. She stared at the pile of suitcases, garment bags and makeup cases next to her and decided that vegging out in front of the TV seemed like a plan.

A very lazy plan, but a plan.

Zero looked doubtful. "I dunno...not usually, but sometimes the rooms...change."

"Great." Miley sighed and flopped her head back on the couch. "I'm just going to veg in front of the TV and pretend this problem is going to fix itself."

"Oh, I'm Miley Stewart, by the way."

"Squalling finally," Zero said. "I'm Zero Hopeless-Savage. I'm your big sister. I knew I'd find you eventually."

"Awesome!" Miley grinned. "You've got such a cool name."

Zero shrugged. "Eh. It works. So, how much d'you know about Fandom so far? 'Cause, as your big sister, it's my job to make sure you know the swoo."

"I met an alien and a mutant and a squirrel so far." Miley said. "Uh...I'm not really sure what swoo means."

Zero shrugged. "Don' worry about it. Okay, the squirrels spy for the radio. An' they're everywhere. Was it wearin' a little reporter hat?"

Miley looked around to see if any squirrels were roaming over her luggage. "I think it was just hanging out by a clipboard. I thought it was someone's pet."

Zero snickered. "No. No, the squirrels aren't pets. Lemming, tiny squid, vampire puppy, robot dog, those are all pets." Not to mention a giant pink cockatoo that spoke several languages and could be kinda creepy, but she didn't think Fish was too remarkable. "What about the gremlins?"

"Vampire puppy." Miley blinked and shook her head. "People have gremlin pets? Gremlins are real?"

"No. No. Squall no, no pet gremlins. But they are real. And, um. Venomous. There used to be an infestation, until the administration cruelly had them exterminated. But there are prolly still a few around. Just...don't get bit, 'kay? That way lies madness and public nudity." Zero snickered at the memory of Anders with a lampshade on his head.

"Venomous gremlins that bite you and cause you to get nekkid." Miley shook her head. "This is crazier than all my relatives in Tennesse combined."
