School Hallway with lockers, one of which is 327 - Friday Afternoon

Pippi poked her head around the corner to peer at locker 327. Mr. Neilson, sitting on her head, peers around the corner as well.

"You think it knows we're coming?" she whispered.

[[ooc: for Walter and... Well. You know.]]

"Who knows what it knows?" Walter whispered back. "I brought it some candy bars. I thought I heard that someone had fed it."

"Maybe. Or cherries." A reference only Pippi had much chance of getting. "Well, come on. I'm not going to stand around whispering about a locker."

The locker rattle quietly as if it knew they were talking about it.

Walter heard the rattle and looked at Pippi for confirmation that she'd heard it, too.

"C'mon."

As the two got closer, the door swung open with a creak to reveal...

An empty locker.

It rattled again. It was a superior rattle. A dignified rattle. A rattle that gave off the impression that it was waiting for a long overdue tribute.

"That's good news."

Walter grinned at the locker's behavior. Only in Fandom. He pulled the candy bars out of the bag he was carrying and held out half of them to Pippi.

"I'll go first. In case it's just waiting to strike."

The door rattle ominously now, as if it were really tempted to snap shut on Pippi's hand. The door stayed open though.

At least until Pippi's hand was clear. It snapped shut and shook for a few minutes before going quiet for a minute. Then the door popped open again with the same air of expectation as before. It seemed to be directed at Walter.

Well, ladies first it had been after all. Walter followed suit, putting the candy bar where Pippi had put the first one.

The locker wasn't as patient this time. Even as Walter reached inside to set down the candy, the door rattled eagerly and began to swing shut.

Walter, fortunately, was very fast. The locker would have to be amazingly fast to catch his hand as he jerked it back, having dropped the candy bar inside.

The locker was eager for candy, not students today. Walter didn't have to worry about his hand.

The locker went through it's previous antics of rattling then silence before the door swung open again. This time there was something inside.

A pile of loose leaf notebook paper. It looked like it was covered in handwriting.

Walter leaned over to look at the pages and PL + PB sort of gave it away, even if he didn't recognize the handwriting.

"Cherry blossoms were a little more interesting," he murmured to Pippi.

[identity profile] fh-anonymous.livejournal.com 2007-01-06 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
With that comment from Walter, the locker blew all of the pages, and what seemed like a lot more than what had been sitting on the floor of the locker, out into the hallway. The papers swirled in the wind coming out of the locker before the door slammed shut and the papers floated down like large snowflakes.

Walter shrugged and started gathering papers from the floor, pulling a few bits of confetti-ish notebook paper out of his ear first.

"Why does it always blow stuff at us?"

[identity profile] fh-anonymous.livejournal.com 2007-01-06 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
A deep booming came from the closed locker. Like someone was hitting the inside of a very large metal tank.

Walter laughed while he continued gathering up papers. If that locker opened up again, he was going to show he was a good school citizen and shove them back in.

Yes, even though it might spit them back out again.
