School Hallway with lockers, one of which is 327 - Friday Afternoon

Pippi poked her head around the corner to peer at locker 327. Mr. Neilson, sitting on her head, peers around the corner as well.

"You think it knows we're coming?" she whispered.

[[ooc: for Walter and... Well. You know.]]

"Who knows what it knows?" Walter whispered back. "I brought it some candy bars. I thought I heard that someone had fed it."

"Maybe. Or cherries." A reference only Pippi had much chance of getting. "Well, come on. I'm not going to stand around whispering about a locker."

The locker rattle quietly as if it knew they were talking about it.

Walter heard the rattle and looked at Pippi for confirmation that she'd heard it, too.

"C'mon."

As the two got closer, the door swung open with a creak to reveal...

An empty locker.

It rattled again. It was a superior rattle. A dignified rattle. A rattle that gave off the impression that it was waiting for a long overdue tribute.

"That's good news."

Walter grinned at the locker's behavior. Only in Fandom. He pulled the candy bars out of the bag he was carrying and held out half of them to Pippi.

"I'll go first. In case it's just waiting to strike."

The door rattle ominously now, as if it were really tempted to snap shut on Pippi's hand. The door stayed open though.

At least until Pippi's hand was clear. It snapped shut and shook for a few minutes before going quiet for a minute. Then the door popped open again with the same air of expectation as before. It seemed to be directed at Walter.

Well, ladies first it had been after all. Walter followed suit, putting the candy bar where Pippi had put the first one.

It was a couple hours later and all of the melted snow had either evaporated or been cleaned up by Fossey. The locker couldn't say as it had been too busy watching what the two students were up to inside. Also, it had no mouth.

Anyway, the hallway was dry and quiet now. Until the door of locker 327 started rattling, that is. The rattling was accompanied by a rumbling from inside the locker. It grew louder, once again making the entire bank of lockers vibrate. Finally, the door popped open and Pippi and Walter were unceremoniously dumped back out onto the floor of the hallway.

They were completely unharmed and unchanged. Mostly.

Walter shook snow out of his hair and looked down.

The worst? He was far too tall for those tights.

"I really don't know."

Right. Which drew to mind the fact that they (thankfully) hadn't swapped smallclothes.

Problem being... he didn't wear smallclothes.

He was a little too preoccupied making sure the skirt was covering everything vital to notice the platypus' absence at first.

"I don't know. I saw it talking to the echidna. Something about eggs."

He would have pointed out that he owed her a bit of TMI for the other day.

About that time his phone started ringing (http://walter-n-wires.livejournal.com/681.html?thread=1012137).

In his pants pocket.

He scrambled off the floor, making sure not to add to the TMI quotient and waved his fingers at Pippi. "My phone's ringing."

"Why?" Walter made to grab his phone away from her to hear the message. "What is it?"

Walter rounded the corner hard on Pippi's heels and caught the grin.

"Hey!"
