The Roof - Friday Late Evening

Stars didn't change no matter where you were, everywhere they still brought a sense of peace, and that was what Balthier needed at the moment. Even the briefest mention of his father earlier had set the pirate on edge.

He had grabbed his grocery bag of apples, as well as a water bottle and headed up to the roof for some peace and possible relaxtion stargazing.

Demyx was still bouncing from highs to lows. Right now, he wasn't sure how he felt. But he almost always managed to run into cool people on the roof, so it was worth a try.

He didn't recognize the boy who was there already, but that didn't stop him from claiming a part of the railing and half-draping himself over it, staring down at the ground below. "Evenin'," he said offhandedly, glancing over.

"Evening yourself," Balthier said, raising an eyebrow at the spikey-haired, young man as he bit into his apple. "Nice jacket."

"Huh?" Demyx blinked, actually looking at him. "Oh. Thanks. It's a uniform." He toyed with one of the hood-pulls, tracing the lines of filligree with a fingertip. "For something that doesn't exist anymore."

"Should I be offering condolences on that?" Balthier wasn't quite sure, but the other young man didn't sound entirely happy.

"Yes. No. I don't know." Demyx unzipped the long jacket, pulling it off and draping it over the railing. It left him in only a pair of leather pants, but he didn't seem to mind. "I've seen you before. Are you new? Or just someone who showed up while I was gone?" He was trying so hard not to be bitter. It wasn't really working.

Balthier noticed the bitterness, it was rather hard to miss, he raised an eyebrow and shrugged. "New, I arrived on Tuesday." He explained and reached into the paper bag. "Apple?"

"Are there people up here?"

"Yes, over here." Balthier said waiving at the young woman in gentleman's clothes.

"Hi, I don't think I met you yet."

"I don't believe that we have." He nodded with a small smile. "I'm Balthier, yourself?"

Pippi offered her hand.

"I'm Pippi, Pippi Longstocking. Nice to meet you."

"Likewise, Pippi." He smiled pleasently and indicated the bag at his feet. "Help yourself to an apple."

Haruhi had done an amazing amount of nothing today kind of like her mun, and with not planning to hit bed anytime soon, eventually found herself wandering to the roof. Given what she knew of the layout of the island, the roof had to have a great view of the place. Not that she'd ever admit it, but she had a soft spot for scenery.

Spotting others up there as well as no surprise; everyone was everywhere, it felt like.

"Hi! Another new person."

"That I would be," Haruhi said. "Hello."

"Hi! I'm Pippi."

"I'm Haruhi," she replied. "I'll take it you're not new here."

Balthier looked over hearing more steps. "Ahh welcome to the circus. Apple?"

"It doesn't look that crazy to me yet," Haruhi said, taking a glance around. "No, but thank you. I had myself a bite to eat not too long ago."

"All right. I'm Balthier, yourself?" He asked offering his hand.

"Haruhi," she responded, offering her own hand. "It's nice to meet you."

Demyx waved, rubbing his shoulder and trying not to show that it hurt. "Hi!"

Haruhi was a little more perceptive than that though; she frowned slightly, tilting her head. "Is your shoulder all right?"

"Huh? Oh, yeah." Demyx smiled through it. "I kinda fell off the side of the building," he admitted sheepishly.
