Fourth floor common room, Monday evening

Marco had claimed the remote as his own and was now channel surfing from about a foot away from the television. There was a big, forgotten bowl of popcorn behind him.

"It does that." Parker shrugged. "More interesting things around here to do anyway. Clubs, and going out to the town, and going to the Mainland. Although we do have fun mocking stuff on TV, sometimes."

Parker laughed. "Well, you might get that at any time with no warning, I think I told you that." She curled her feet under her and said, "I've got a live xBox, but I don't really play with Boxey enough."

"An xBox?" Parker frowned. "Oh wait, I guess those didn't come out yet, for you. I have one that's been-- upgraded. Heh." She grinned. "Long story."

"Wellll..." Parker grinned, remembering. "Said xBox was upgraded by one of our former teachers. Who was an android. So Boxey is a little bit sentient. Not bright, mind you, but aware. And she was stuck in the Teacher's Lounge, not being played at all. Does that sound fair to you?"

"Not me... so much. An unknown band of avengers." Parker contrived to look innocent. "Distracted the big pink teddy bear that guards the lounge, went through the air ducts, dropped in, retrieved it, distracted the principal, lied to him, then returned to base and celebrated." She smiled wickedly. "And Boxey had to be put *somewhere* she'd be safe."

"So yes. That's how I ended up with a sentient video game controller." Parker grinned and bowed a little. "6, Sam Carter, Callisto, Kawalsky, Lee Adama... Anakin Skywalker... have no idea what I'm talking about when I mention this. Nope."

"Callisto and Anakin graduated. Lee left. So did 6, but I heard he's back this semester. Sam, Kawalsky and I have been here for the long haul." Parker shook her head, amazed it had been a year. "And you didn't hear any of this from me."
