Gym, Cheerleading practice, Wednesday, afternoon (after classes)

Buffy bounced into the gym, looking extremely cheerful and ready to start the practices for the new year. "Hello everyone! I have great news!" She waved an envelope at them. "We're going to our first competition on the 24th of February! Isn't that fantastic? Of course, this means we must train very hard and diligently until then."

Judging from Buffy's expression, this was a good thing.

"Also, on Sunday we have a new try-out session - which I hope you know - so I hope as many of us as possible can be there, and remember to bully badger threaten coerce convince tell all your friends!"

Buffy smiled brightly again and turned on the CD player. Oh Mickey, you're so fine, you're so fine, you blow my mind, Hey Mickey!

She raised her voice. "Today we're going to try something really exciting! Pyramids! Small, light people at the top, strong types at the bottom. It really important that everyone's paying attention and, um, try not to fall down." She chewed her lip a little worriedly, before smiling again and clapping her hands. "Let's get to it!"

Jack waved back. "And hello, giver of gifts," he called. "Who's looking as gorgeous as ever."

"Why thank you, handsome like no one else." D grinned and possibly gave a wink. "That painting was meant for none but you. Truly. It was totally fated."

Jack laughed. "But not everyone would have recognised it. I've got something for you, if you want to stop by sometime. I'll even model the shirt for you."

"That's me, recognizer of fate, cheerleader of destiny!" D rolled her eyes at her self and giggled. Then, putting on an expression of mock shock, she asked, "but would the thingies approve?"

"I'm sure the thingies wouldn't mind, as long as all I do is model. You are a fellow Seahorse after all." Snickering, he added, "It could be part of your present."

D'anna threw back her head and laughed. "You, Jack Harkness, are a breath of fresh air. I shall stop by at my earliest opportunity." She smiled, and then remembered there was an actual purpose to her joining the bleacher bunch, "speaking of your lucky ones and our fellow Seahorses, have Sam or Jaye told you about our plans?"

"Noooo," he said, looking very intrigued. "I'm almost afraid to ask."

"If it still involved Vader, the Tick, and hot wax, I would be afraid too, but now it's just hot wax and a catapult." D said. "Oh! And alcoholic gummi bears!" Which wasn't very helpful at all.

Jack boggled, then started to laugh. "Whatever it is, count me in."

"Good! One more for the Seawhorse Reunion Party!" D beamed.

"Is that what's going on?" Jack frowned. "There's a problem with that plan. A big one."

Re: Audience

"As of... Sunday? Yeah." D's smiled faded and she tilted her head a little to the side. "What's wrong, Jack?"

Re: Audience

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2007-01-11 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Well," he said sadly, letting his shoulder slump. "You didn't mention shirtlessness." He glanced up at D'anna, puppy dog eyes in place. "You don't think shirtlessness is important anymore?"

Re: Audience

D pursed her lips together in an attempted not to laugh but a snicker or two might have escaped as she put on a face of mock affront. "Abandon one of the core values of the Seahorses? Never! Perish the thought!"

Won't someone think of the shirtless?

Re: Audience

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2007-01-11 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
Jack smirked, eyes gleaming. "That's okay then. You had me worried for a minute. So when and where is this reunion planned?"

They think of you, umm, shirtless!

Re: Audience

"Brat." D pushed lightly at his shoulder and grinned broadly. "Friday? No idea where though I'm sorry to say."

D: *dawns bikini so as to be technically shirtless but not entirely topless*

Re: Audience

He grinned and nudged her with his shoulder. "You love me anyway," he said smugly. "Friday works, and anywhere can become Seahorse home base - all it takes is enough shirtlessness. And hot wax, catapaults, and alcoholic gummi bears."

Re: Audience

[identity profile] dbiers.livejournal.com 2007-01-11 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
"True." D laughed, then she lit up, like a light bulb had just been snapped on above her. "Say, you wouldn't know a place a where shirtlessness was encouraged daily and a few Seawhorses could gather Friday night, would you?"

Re: Audience

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2007-01-11 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Might be my room might fit that description," he said sagely, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "And it has a hammock, which I bet Sam could modify into a catapault."

Re: Audience

[identity profile] dbiers.livejournal.com 2007-01-11 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Might it? Fantastic!" D said. "So, Seahorses, Friday night, your place it is! Spread the word to Cedric, yeah?"

Re: Audience

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2007-01-11 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course!" He grinned. "It couldn't be a party without Cedric."

Re: Audience

[identity profile] dbiers.livejournal.com 2007-01-11 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
"You're the best, Jack!" D have him a quick, enthusiastic hug and bounced back into practice. "I'll catch you later!"

Re: Audience

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2007-01-11 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
He grinned, watching her go. "See you Friday, D!"
