[3rd Floor Common Room, Evening] Birthday Party!

It's Weiss's 17th birthday and he's providing chocolate cake and (moddable) soda! There's even some vegan cupcakes if you're so inclined. This shindig is open invite, so come on down.

[OOC: ~~I will be in and out for a bit, so count on Weiss's threads to be slowplay until after 8 and then full-on party mode after that~~ I'm here!]

ETA: Oh yes, there's actually a sign up that indicates party and free cake, if your character needs a reason to wander in. I forget details.

"You do ouija?" Angela asked. "I haven't seen one of those in forever."

JD nodded. "Yup! I'm in charge of games," his chest puffed out a bit, "and I thought Ouija would be fun."

Angela sat down across from JD at the board, enjoying his enthusiasm. "Do you want to try a reading with just us?" she asked, flicking a hair out of the way, "or should we get someone else?"

I guess we could try with just us, or," JD spotted Nova approaching the board, "we could try and recruit that guy." JD nodded his head at Nova.

Nova's concentration was now focused on the two new face.

He gives them both a curious and silent stare.

JD glanced at Angela, "Do you know this guy? He's starting to creep me out."

Nova frowns at the thought that he could be considered creepy in any way.

"I don't," Angela said, puzzled and put off by the intense gaze. "I'm Angela, hi," she said to Nova. "You're new?"

JD decided to ignore the stare and try good 'ol fashioned introductions. He held out his hand. "I'm JD! Wanna play?"

Nova wasn't sure who to answer first, so he justed nodded hesitantly.

JD motioned for Nova to take a seat and put his fingers on the pointer, waiting for the others to join him.

Nova joined in the sitting around the board still unsure of what was going on.

"I'm Nova," he said, trying to hide a confused frown.

"Hi, Nova," Angela said, putting her fingers hesitantly on the planchette. "I don't know what to ask it!"

JD looked meaningfully at Nova. "You too, dude. It works better with more people. Ahem. Oh wise and noble spirits, we implore you to answer us! Is anyone there?"

He whispered to the group. "How was that?"

Nova could only sit and watch confused.

"What is this....activity?"

He was curious to see what spirits had to do with any of this.

"You've never played with a ouija boatrd?" Angela asked. "It's a contact-the-spirits thing. You close your eyes and concentrate and in theory the pointer moves on its own."

"But you gotta touch it," JD explained. "We've asked it a question, now we wait to see if anyone is there."

"Okay." He at least thought he understood.

Nova added his hands to the touchy spirit game and waited to see what would happen.

Angela closed her eyes, and waited to feel the pointer move.

Which it did. "A-H-O-Y," she read off.

JD blinked. "Ahoy?"

The pointer continued to move.

"Y-E"

"Nani...?" he questioned the moving pointer.

Nova stared confused, and half hoping the spirits would have better conversation than whatever 'ahoy' meant.

He continued to call out the letters.
"L-L-O-W.....T-A..I..L..."

"AHOY yellow tail," Angela put it together. "It ... wants us to drink wine?" she asked.

"G-O-L-D," the pointer added.

JD looked confused. "It wants us to drink gold." He changed his voice tone to that appropriate for speaking with spirits. "Oh wise spirit, we cannot drink gold!"

The pointer very clearly spelled out G-I-T and then continued to move.

"Z-O-M..." Nova finished reading. He frowned unable to figure out what Gitzom meant.

Angela had no idea either, and she tried to concentrate harder. "B-E-E-S," she read. "Gitzombees? Ugh."
