Cheerleader Try-Outs, Sunday, noon!

The gym was set up as it had been for other try-outs. The current cheerleaders were sitting behind desks, pen and paper ready to make judging marks. In front of them were an open space, with a pile of mats to one side in case someone was feeling uncertain of their abilities. There was ample space on the bleachers for an audience to support and/or mock the people trying out.

They would need at least three cheerleaders to replace those graduating this spring.

(ooc: Posted early so people working Sundays (!!!) can get a chance to play too! Wait for OCD is up! Come try out! Show your school spirit!)

"What types of technology?" asked Janet. "I don't know; I think Liz might flip out if there were two of me around."

"Computers, robots, certain types of networking modules, that kind of thing." D answered. "Well, yes, but the real you could have a lay-in and clone could go to class and thus give you and Liz more time together!"

"Does this have to do with that problem you guys had with-- I can't remember, the name, but everyone freaked out when Crichton picked up that talking toaster." Janet laughed. "Okay, Liz wouldn't complain about that at all."

"Yeah. Big nasty war between humans and the cylons, which is a nice little word for artificially intelligent life assistants which cover a wide range of products."

She made a vague hand gesture," Anyway, there was a lot of death and society scarring destruction and so we have a bunch of rules governing technology. Especially systems of communication and various computer sciences."

"Artificially intelligent life--assistants?" Janet frowned. "Products? Oh, that can't have gone over well. No wonder there was a war."

"Yeah, not the prettiest thing ever, but we survived and here I am." D clasped her hands together. "So... which classes are you taking this term? "

"Oh, let's see. The office workers thought it would be funny to sign me up for that Gods and You course." Janet snorted. "Plus you know we're in Sociology of Space together, and I've got Anatomy, and Forensic Science. You?"

"The office is run by freaks." D shook her head. "I've wound up with 'So You Want a Revolution' with our coach, Spy Tech and Adventuring Survival Tactics. Did I miss anything major in Sociology? I kinda zoned out after I realized that I can see home from here."

"I, ah, kind of did the same thing," said Janet sheepishly. "Mostly I just remember the start of the 'why do people explore space' discussion, and after that, it's a big blur."

D laughed. "No worries! Maybe we'll be lucky and have missed nothing come Thursday."

"That's what I'm hoping for," said Janet, grinning. "I suppose the first class is the one to zone out in. Do you even remember the syllabus?"

"There was a syllabus? Er..." D blinked.
