Second Floor Common Room, Monday evening

Jim wandered out to the common room with a bowl of candy - which included a few Canary Creams from the joke shop mixed in there - and turned on the second night of the season premiere of 60. There might be dead terrorists on the screen and there might be people turning into giant birds in the common room. No matter what, Jim figured he was going to be entertained tonight.

He couldn't help but wonder who was playing the one guy. "I know I've seen him in something. Oh! Wait! The stoner movie! The guy from the White Castle movie!" Jim was way too excited about figuring that out.

[OOC: Open as a common room tends to be. There are a handful of Canary Creams in the candy bowl. If you want to eat one, feel free. You'll be a giant canary for the span of a comment or so. And 60 is, of course, 24. Unless somebody directs me to a different meta for it.

Also, I'm American. I didn't know about any Australian politicians named John Howard. But meta-Bauer has a slight Australian accent Australia has a meta-Bauer accent because of it, okay?]

"I had to catch the first couple seasons on DVD, but since that, yeah," Jim said.

"They're trying to blow up Americans," Jim said. "The specifics change from year to year, but that's the basic plot every season."

"You know John doesn't have an Australian accent," Peter said. "Austraila has a John Howard accent."

"What was detention like?" Peter asked. "They make you sit and do essays all day?"

"My brother got it for me. I don't usually watch much TV, but what I do watch, I hate to miss. There is always the downloads and online versions, though," Parker pointed out. "That's how I follow Supers, otherwise I'd never see it."

"Huh," Jim said. "I'm going to pretend it's a rumor, but if you ever do something like that, please let me know so I can stay in my room, okay?"

"I see. I suppose appreciation of violence is universal then," Irulan said and took in a breath to say, "I am the Princess Irulan Corrino of House Corrino. You may call me Princess Irulan, or Irulan."

"Definitely not. To be avoided by being sneakier if at all possible," Parker said absently. "What kind of heroing do you aspire to?" she asked curiously. "I know I've heard your name on the Radio, and not just as Peter Number 4, but I'm afraid I'm blanking on the details."

"They made me save the world from a supposedly 'crazy' guy, who's actually a superhero from back home," Cassie said.

"Kangaroos have pouches because John Howard was in the Outback and needed someplace to keep his guns," Jim said.

"Supers is the new one with all the random people with powers, right?" Tyler asked. "I watch a lot when I can't sleep, but that's just whatever's on. Infomercials. The news. A Trio is Friendly reruns."

"Interesting. And better now that John Howard is back and protecting America with a handgun again." Parker shook her head as someone tried to lie to John. "Fool. Utterly idiotic moron. Don't try to lie to him, he can tell when you do that just by an eyelid twitch."

"I'll issue an all-points bulletin," Tyler said, knowing he would do no such thing. "So what do you do in your spare time?"

"Mostly fictional violence, yeah," Jim said. "Or real violence if it's funny. I'm a big fan of either of those."

"Peter that jumped off the roof?" he prompted, in case that might help.

"Yep," Jim said. "Evil terrorists."

"That's about as far as I've gotten," Peter admitted. "I'm hoping I can fill in the rest while I'm here."

"That actually sounds pretty useful," Peter said. "If you're into heroing."

"Right. They put the episodes on the website so you can catch up if you miss one." Parker blinked. "Trio? Are those watchable?" she wondered. "I mean, they were made in what, the 70's? Or is that the point, that it puts you to sleep?"

"Remember when Alligator Dunlee did his whole 'that's a knife' routine?" Peter asked. "John Howard immediately broke his knees and demanded to know who he was working for."
