In a strange and startling turn of events, it would seem that Adah Price crawled from primordial depths (well, her bedroom, anyway, which, while quite dry and warm and nice, seemed to be taking on a murky, swamplike visage in her head today) to emerge herself once again on the front of possible socialization. She wondered if she should be concerned, and then reasoned with herself, as she shifted through a drawer for a can opener that she could manage with one hand, that there were reasons. Today, the reason was simply that of the fact that a girl had to eat. She was driven from the confines of as close to a hermitage as she could get for a simple, primal need. Yesterday also had its reasons, as she had come across the fairly busy pool entirely by accident out of not wanting to deal with the trouble of bundling up a little to go outside. Warmer weather aside, it had nothing on the sweltering Congo nights. They had their reasons and she was restless, anyway, wrestling a little finally with a simpler can opener that made quite a chore out of getting into the can of fruit swimming in sickly sweet syrup that would probably make her stomach rebel later, but it was food, it was (relatively) simple, and eating it directly out of the can as she curled up a little on the couch had become more familiar to her than other, conventional, American ways of preparing full, three-course meals.

She considered the TV, but then banished the thought once the thought of managing a remote control and a can of peaches would be more difficult than Adah wanted to bother with right now.

It was already warm out, so Stark didn't see the need for a fire. So there was no fire and consequently no s'mores. There were, however, all the necessary ingredients for s'mores should anyone feel compelled to start a fire or to eat the marshmallows or chocolate. And there was Stark, sitting by the empty firepit and nibbling at one of the chocolate bars.

Chris woke up early and decided to sit outside on the porch with his hot chocolate so he wouldn't disturb his cabin-mates.

He was very much hoping for a quiet day. The whole crazy psycho killer thing last week had been more than enough excitement for him.

It had been a long day at the Photo Hut.  During his first ever shift, John had actually managed to read a few pages of his book.  He thought that deserved some relaxation, so he sat poking the campfire with a stick, hoping to see some friendly faces.

Since she had no workshops today, Molly had slept in and then spent the majority of the day puttering around the cabin. The glittery was getting to her though. So, she went to sit outside for a while with her back to the cabin. She ignored the fact that she was almost as glittery as the cabin by now.

Thanks to the magic of express shipping, Peter had a box of bagels fresh from New York City.

He set them up on a picnic table that he hauled over near his cabin's campfire so that they were available for sharing. He kept one section to the side so that his cabinmates would be sure to have some. He also put out various toppings.

That done, he took a bagel, a cup of coffee, and sat down with a Ninth Wonders comic to enjoy the morning.

After her first workshop and a full day of work, Lana just wanted to sit down and put her feet up. It was too nice to sit inside in the tiny alcove she and Jim were in so she decided to go outside. She brought some soda and some stuff to nibble on out to the firepit and made herself comfortable.

Henry drug his trunk into the B side of the cabin, and all but collapsed onto it. It was way too heavy, and the contents too fragile, for such a long haul. After taking a minute to rest, he set up his bed (he took A4, and hoped that it wasn't wrong of him to choose without asking), and put away his clothing.
When he was finished, Henry pulled out a book and waited. He was excited to meet his cabinmates.

Jack had made a handwavy trip into town for supplies this morning, which he'd laid out on the kitchen counter. Everything one might need to make Devil's Food Cake. And everything one might need to make another, in case the first one went horribly wrong.

Sam was going to successfully cook something today if it killed him.

Why cake? It seemed appropriate given it was Sam's birthday, and there were two small packages sitting on the counter next to one of the bowls, wrapped in shiny silver paper.

Now all he needed was a Sam.

[ooc: open of course, just with very minor OCD. First thread locked to Sam, thanks. Now with cake!! Come and celebrate Sam's birthday and the survival of the common room!]

They blew up the school.

And people were leaving - not that he really knew many of them very well, but then again he didn't know many people at this school very well.

Thus, Jim was dealing by watching bad sci-fi thrillers. He was sitting on the couch with popcorn and a fizzy beverage, his feet up and 'The Concealed' in the DVD player. Any similarity between the scantily clad alien host and a certain space Russian was purely coincidental.

Jamie was up early and had taken over the second floor common room today. He had thoughtfully sent a dupe out to pick up a ton of baked goods from J'GOB and also had take out containers of coffee from The Perk. (Because let's face it the best coffee is the coffee someone else makes)

He was currently kicking his feet up on the couch as he waited for the DVD Menu of Attack of the Killer Tomatoes Ambush of the Murderous Rutabagas to start.

The room was decorated with colourful streamers and banners, and along one side of the room a long table was set up full of food and drink, including a large cake with the words "Happy Birthday Sammy" written on it kinda lopsidedly.

There was another table set aside for presents and center of the room was cleared for dancing or whatever else people wanted to do. Dean had hauled his stereo down and set it up to play music, not all of which was classic rock in deference to Sammy's tastes.

Everything was set up for the party. It just needed the people now.

Mr Canute Mimir Fluffypants was anxious.

Things were not going as he'd hoped. It had been ages since D-prime had vanished. H-prime had been ignoring him for months. And if his internal clock was right, it was almost time for H-prime to graduate and leave Fandom entirely.

Well, he wasn't having any of that. On the morning of May 1st, he reactivated himself and stealthily snuck through a whole bunch of dorm rooms to steal things. Weird things. Random things. Whatever he liked best in each of the rooms visited. Things like:

Fluffypants' swag list )

After he was done, he piled his collection of loot in a large pile in the second floor common room. If anyone wanted their things back, they'd have to bargain with him.

That would stop all the upcoming changes from happening, wouldn't it?

Okay, so: she'd made several dozen cookies last night, and she had actually followed the recipes for once instead of just making things up as she went along. So they weren't, say, Surprise Cookies, but they should be edible, which ... surprise cookies sometimes weren't.

Rikku got a table and set out the cookies - some chocolate chip, some of the peanut butter kind with the fork-marks on top, and some oatmeal raisin - and pulled up a chair. And behind her, she hung the sign she had made.

See, this is why she put the note in the paper. Because she wasn't so great at signs.

Phoebe had ventured out of her dorm rooms and came out into the common room. She had started downloading radio podcasts onto her machine to see exactly what she may have done over the last week. Unfortunately, she hadn't been able to listen to them yet as she was feeling antsy.

So, here she was in the common room, flipping through a magazine and trying to calm her nerves.

After Alpha Beta Gremlin, D wasn't really in the mood to go back to her room. She'd spent enough time in there over the weekend.

Also? She had an inexplicably large amount of cupcakes that she'd just picked up from J.GOB and there was no way she could eat them all herself.

So she set them out on the counter in the common room, took one for herself and went to see what was playing on the TV.

She found the remote and began flipping channels before taking a bite of a rather tasty cupcake, "Happy birthday to me."

Conner was slouched in a chair in the lobby with T-Rex the laptop, idly web browsing and trying not to think too much about his embarrassing behavior with Gwynn a few days ago, when he got a handwavey email telling him to meet up with a few other people . . . hey, in the lobby. That was convenient. He kind of really didn't want Gwynn to get dragged back to ancient England and hanged, because that would suck.

He was still a little worried about the whole "human opponent" issue, though. He was totally fine beating up on a conglomeration of a shark, a flower, and car parts, but this was a little out of his comfort zone.

She rubbed her face and then winced as her hand came in contact with the bruise on her jaw. As wounds went, the ones she had received from him were minor, but the blow to the ego that he had bested her wouldn't go away.

She rubbed the bandage on her arm and looked back down at her paper.

It wouldn't be entirely accurate to say that Nadia was back on the roof.

Still on the roof would be a better phrase.

It was breezy and cool, but not the same biting cold that had kept her from coming up here as much throughout the winter, so she might have been making up for lost time.

She still had her guitar with her, of course, though she wasn't playing it. Just looking out over the town, a slight smile on her face.

Sometimes? Pip is just kind of oblivious.

Take, for example, today, where he completely failed to notice the fact that a lot of his male classmates had become female.

Now, this isn't to say that he hadn't noticed the increase girl/guy ratio, and had indeed noted more than one girl he hadn't seen before as being "really hot", but he had yet to put two and two together.

So there he was, cheerfully going through his daily workout, oblivious to the truth, and content in his ignorance.

Yeah, so she'd spent a good chunk of her weekend sitting outside and staring off into space. That certainly didn't mean that she couldn't do that now, up on the roof, as long as she was dressed warmly and still made it to Caritas on time for the gig that night.

She was still seething a little about Pippi, and still trying to wrap her brain around her vision and Bel. There were things to think about.

This wasn't emo. It was thinking.

Hm. She should work on her song, some, too. . . .

It was chilly out, but it had also been a while since Setsuna had her wings out, and they were being a little troublesome today. Sitting on the edge of the roof, she looked out and up slightly into the sky, as if planning a possible route to loop around in before, with a little push, shoving herself off, letting her stomach feel the effects of the drop before giving her wings a powerful push against the cold air, straightening her body as she sharply rose back up. A good distance from the roof, she did a little loop, back up, then a swoop down, imagining herself almost like a hawk decending on her prey, and then smiling softly. Flying was far too much fun for how little she did it.

Nadia was sore, grumpy, and her hair smelled like monkey. She had no idea how she'd managed to get bruised while taking a nap in her room, but somehow, she'd done just that.

Which would be why she was camped out on the couch in the common room, some fluffy kids movie about computer generated animals playing on the TV, eating ice cream.

Things have an unnerving tendency to get worse before they get better. So it shouldn't serve as too much of a surprise that Nadia had not just fallen asleep in the middle of the afternoon, but was, in fact, sleepwalking through the hallways of the dorms. Her eyes were open, she was walking a little bit slowly, but surely, and but for the occasional tendency to bump gently into things, she probably didn't seem to be that much unaware of what was going on around her.

She was definitely asleep, though, and occasionally muttering as she wandered.

Coming up with an idea for a present for Valentine's day was much harder than Teddy thought it would be. He was sitting cross legged on the couch, notebook in his lap, trying to come up with an idea of what to get Chad.

A romantic comedy was on TV and Teddy was hoping for some brilliant inspiration to come from watching it. His only idea so far was a teddy bear and he had to beat his head against the arm of the couch for thinking of something so corny.

Even four...five..six weeks in Fandom hadn't shaken the early riser syndrome out of Neil. After a shower, he pulled on some casual -for him- clothes and grabbed up his Traditional Fairy tales books and headed out to the common room. He had been working in his room all day yesterday and just needed a change of scenary.

Dropping the books on the couch, Neil headed over to make a little breakfast first. His usual fare, bacon, oatmeal, toast and coffee. Fairly soon the common room was filled with the scent of frying bacon and oatmeal with maple syrup.

After facing the shadows and succeeding in banishing them from Fandom and back to their world, Tori, thought extremely exhausted had a craving for hot chocolate.

And what was she currently doing? Making hot chocolate in the common room. She would definitely take a nice, long hot shower in a bit, but she wanted the cocoa first.

And lots of sleep were in order as well.

Tori hoped Annette, Cam and the others were okay, since everyone seemed to be slowly turning back to normal. She had noticed the bit of warmth gathered after the shadows had been defeated. So, hopefully, it was being given back to everyone who had been attacked.

As the saying went, your ears were supposed to burn or something if someone was talking about you, but Anders's ears had felt just fine today. Which was just as well -- if he'd had any idea what certain parties had been saying about him today he'd be freaking out. If he'd had any idea of certain events that had transpired? He'd definitely be freaking out.

Okay, so he was freaking out, but for an entirely different reason: he'd missed the snowboard-X competition at the Winter X Games.

This didn't stop him from lying on a couch in the common room (just for the change of scenery), scowling at ESPN and waiting to see if they'd replay any of it. As if it had been ESPN's fault that he'd been preoccupied and missed it in the first place.

The giant pillow/blanket/chair fort of awesome was still up from last night. Thankfully, someone had turned the TV off so Rescued by the Alarm wasn't on anymore. Kawalsky had fallen asleep during that really bad murder mystery weekend episode where Zeke was in on it the whole time.

Worst episode ever.

He emerged from the fort and eyed the common room kitchenette. This situation called for pancakes. He got to it, being a pancake ninja and all.

Kawalsky wasn't just in the common room. He was in the common room with enough junk food to last the night, pillows, all the blankets he could find and a bunch of chairs. The TV was playing the third hour of a Rescued by the Alarm marathon. It was the one where Bessie didn't get into the college she wanted and Shriek kept getting into the oddest colleges, so Bessie kept freaking out at everyone and scaring them with her giant feet.

Kawalsky was only half-watching it anyway. He was busy trying to make a giant room fort that covered the TV.
