School grounds [afternoon]

Mufasa had enjoyed his time at the brunch--even if the free range caramels had gotten stuck in his teeth--but now it was time for more difficult prey.

He crouched behind a bush, tail swishing, and waited for a gremlin to arrive.

It was part of the Circle of Life, after all.

James Earl Jones let out a warm chuckle.

"Hello, cat," he said, holding out his fingers.

Which was a paw.

He hadn't noticed that, no.

Salem took one look at the paw and decided he liked being in one piece. "Salem Saberhagen."

"Oh my heavens," James exclaimed. "You talk!"

Salem gave Darth Vader Muffassa James Earl Jones the lion a look that questioned his intelligence. "So do you."

"Of course I do," James replied haughtily. "It would be hard working as actor otherwise."

"Oh yeah, I think I've seen a couple of your movies. Nice job biting off that guys head." Salem backed up a few steps just in case he had to bolt.

James paused. He didn't remember that particular role...but it was never a good idea to insult a fan. "I'm glad you enjoyed it," he said amiably. "Would you care for an autograph?"

Salem spent all of five seconds weighing the danger to his health over the possibility of getting a lot of money on E-bay. "Sure!"

James scrawled his signature onto a spare piece of paper.

Being that he was actually a lion at the moment, he really scraped his claws over a leaf, shredding it.

"Here you go, strange talking cat," he said jovially, handing the pieces over.

Salem decided to cut his losses. "Thanks! I'll look you up next time I'm in Hollywood!"
