Third Floor Common Room - Monday Late Afternoon

It had been a busy day of classes and Neil was still a bit unsettled from the subject matter of Ethics. While some of the rumors started and flung around had been funny, it was also a stark reminder of the power of words and perception.

Dropping off his books in his room, Neil sifted out the ones he needed for Traditional Fairy Tales and then he decided to head back to the common room for a bit. He'd seen enough of the inside of his dorm room this past weekend and felt a change of scenary and the chance to observe some of the post AU weekend awkwardness might be a nice change of pace.

The TV didn't really interest him, so he flipped on a radio and made some popcorn. As microwaves were still a bit of an oddity for him, he made the popcorn the old fashion way, on the stove with oil, salt and fresh butter and he probably made way too much. Shrugging, he dumped it all together into a large bowl, which he placed on the table near the couch he flopped upon. Opening his books and perching his reading glasses on his nose, Neil put his feet up on the opposite cushion and set about doing some extra credit.

Tori entered the common room, glad to see that some of the people in her class that had been affected over the weekend, had turned back to normal. She was extremely relieved.

Hearing someone moving around Neil looked up briefly overtop of the rim of his glasses and smiled.

"Good afternoon." He said. A simply greeting, to be friendly but not intrusive if she was just playing through.

"Hi Neil." Tori greeted him warmly. "How are you?"

She was feeling a whole lot better about the events that had happened over the weekend. At least everyone was turning back to their normal selves. Though, she was still itching to figure out what caused it.

Nudging his glasses further up his nose with the tip of a finger, Neil smiled and looked up at her.

"I'm doing good. Had both my classes today, doing some extra credit for one of them. How are you?"

"I'm glad to hear that." Tori smiled. "I'm well. Everyone seems to be back to normal, so I'm happy about that."

"And dealing with the repercussions of the weekend, if the averted glances and shielded eyes I saw in my first class today were anything to go by." Neil said with gentle humor in his tone.

"Yeah, I noticed that in my class today, too. I felt kind of bad for them." Tori admitted, chuckling a bit.

Neil grinned.

"I imagine they'll survive. I don't know of anyone who's ever died of self inflicted embaressment...just felt like they'd like to."

"I suppose they will." Tori laughed. "Oh, I can only imagine how they're feeling right now."

"Unfortunately, something tells me that there is a high probability that we might experience such situations ourselves...if we stay here long enough. So it's probably best to give everybody a lot of slack." Neil said with a chuckle. "The old, do unto others... bit."

"I'm waiting for it." Tori nodded. "Oh yeah, they'll here no teasing from me." She smirked.

There was food in the third floor CR, so that was a draw, but as Alec wandered in, he frowned at the lack of TV. "What else is there to do?"

Neil glanced up briefly overtop the rim of his glasses, which is probably part of why he made the obvious mistake he was about to make when he said in a friendly tone, "Afternoon, Dean."

Reaching out, he nudged the popcorn towards Alec. "Help yourself."

Neil arched an eyebrow and gave Tori a perfectly executed professor stare over the rim of the eyeglasses look in response to her smirk.

"Rriiiiggghhhtt."

It sounded like he didn't believe her.

"Alec," he corrected somewhat absently, taking a handful of popcorn as he glanced at the TV. "Thanks," he added after a moment, turning back to Neil. "So who're you, now that we've established you know Dean, at least?"

Neil had a moment's pause and he glanced up quickly at Alec, concerned that the strangeness had finally caught up with Dean but then he remembered Dean telling him about Alec when the subject of 'twins' had come up.

Sitting up a little straighter, Neil nudged his glasses up onto the crown of his head so he could see better and he smiled.

"Neil Perry." He said, leaning to offer Alec a hand. "Sorry about the assumption. Dean was right, you two bear a striking resemblance."

After Aziraphale's class, Angela decided she couldn't hide forever. The scent of popcorn drew her to the common room.

"Hi," she said, a little shyly.

Angela offered her roommate an apologetic smile. "For the record? I really, really don't treat people the way I treated you Saturday."

Neil looked up from his studying and smiled in a friendly manner to the young lady he hadn't met yet.

"Good afternoon." He offered.

Alec shook Neil's hand with a grin. "Nice to meet you, Neil. And don't worry about it, really. We do look exactly alike, except for our hair, how we dress, and I'm obviously way hotter."

"Hi," Angela said, perching in a chair. "You're Neil from my group in Fairy Tales, right?"

"It has been forever," Angela agreed. "By the way? I'm really, really not married."

Laughing as he returned the shake, Neil visually marked his place in his book and closed it as he swung his legs down off the couch in a polite offer for Alec to sit.

"Obviously." He agreed, used to such statements from Nuwanda and so long as they were deserved, he'd never had any trouble agreeing.

"Pleasure to finally meet you."

As she came closer and he got his glasses back up on his face, Neil recognized her from Fairy Tales and he blushed a little at his initial faux paux.

"Oh! Hey, yes...yes I am. Angela, right?"
