Third Floor Common Room - Wednesday Morning

After waking up at the decadent hour of 8:30ish in the morning, Neil grabbed a shower. He had spent most of that shower trying not to whiskey tango foxtrot at the rubber duckie -someone had left in the shower- as it waddled around his feet, and then after pulling on pressed slacks, dress shirt, tie and sweater, he headed down to the common room to investigate the possibility of some breakfast.

It was snowing, granted only a light snow but snow all the same and to Neil's northern bred mind that meant it was a good day for some bacon, oatmeal, tea and toast. All of these were items he could actually cook. He'd seen people microwave bacon but with a shrug pulled out a skillet to do it the way he'd learned from his mother. The instant oatmeal was also set aside for working with the real stuff and toast, it always toast.

Turning on the radio to keep him company as he cooked, Neil chuckled along with the morning program as he set about frying the bacon.

Nova's plushy seemed to be getting antsy after thoroughly exploring the whole of room 316, so Nova decided to let him walk around the halls a bit. Unfortunately he ran off and into the common room. Nova followed close behind.

Neil, who was currently moving bacon out of the skillet and onto a napkin to drain, paused in this act and stared.

The little plushy realized he was being watched by someone else and didn't take it too well. He gave Neil and angry stare and proceeded to attack him. He aimed a kick at his foot and ankle level.

Nova stared at his toy with an annoyed and embarrassed frown.

Willow was lured in by the smell of yummy oatmeal. "Oooo - for sharing?"

Turning at question, Neil smiled warmly to the red head he'd seen Peter with yesterday.

"Of course! Here..." Reaching up into the cabinet he pulled down a bowl. "Help yourself, there's also fresh maple syrup, brown sugar or some strawberries if you wish."

"Thanks Dr. Wilson," Willow said, helping herself. "So how long have you been affected by this age spell? Need help getting out of it?"

Well...it startled Neil who jumped a little but then he quickly realized that it didn't hurt and after staring down at the plushie for a minute, he nudged his foot under it and tried to pick it up.

"Err...yours?" He asked the quiet youth who had come into the room close on the heels of the plushie.

Blink...

It had been a couple of weeks since anyone had mistaken him for this Dr. Wilson chap and it caught Neil off guard for a moment. Then he chuckled and gave his head a rueful shake.

"Sorry, I'm not Dr. Wilson. My name is Neil Perry and I transfered in this semester, been at school about four weeks now." As he introduced himself, he held his hand out towards Willow.

"Oh! Sorry!" Willow held her hand out in return. "Willow Rosenberg, here since last summer and not quite used to all the doubles yet. Which is ironic all things considered but then we get into issues of the weekend that just don't need exploring at this juncture. So. Oatmeal. Yum."

Giving her hand a polite shake, Neil smiled.

"Pleasure to meet you, Willow. I heard some very nice things about you, yesterday."

No mention of the weekend here!

"Would you like some toast or bacon to go with the oatmeal?"

"I shall endeavor to live up to them," Willow said. "And just toast please. I've enough on my guilt issues this week without adding pig to the list."

"The bestower of the compliments seems a besotted sort so I imagine you live up to them by smiling at him." Neil said as he picked up a plate with some toast on it and held it out to Willow.

The little plushie struggled under the giant's hand, but being so soft and tiny he had very little strength to resist being picked up.

Nova gave this new person a nod and added, "I apologize."

Holding the plushie out carefully towards Nova, Neil smiled.

"No problem, at least he wasn't making kissie noises at me, which I appreciate."

Nova just nodded, accepting the naughty plushie and resisting the urge to ask about the whole 'kissie noises' comment.

"I'm Nova," he said after giving his plushie a scolding frown.

"Neil." Neil offered chipperly, holding out his hand. "New student as of spring semester." He'd sort of gotten used to giving introductions.

"Would you like some breakfast? I've got oatmeal, bacon, toast and tea?"

Nova accepted a handshake.

"No thank you," he said to the offer of breakfast. He sat his little turtle on the table and found a chair for himself.

His attention was divided between Neil's breakfast making and his plushie that had now found interest in stacking sugar cubes from a dish.

"Okay." Neil said with a smile.

"But it's here if you change your mind." Then, as the other boy seemed to be settling down to focus on something, Neil turned back to his cookie.

Willow looked rather besotted herself. "I find it hard not to. He brings it out in me. Thank you for the toast."

"I hope you enjoy." Neil said with a grin putting the plate down and turning back to finish up the last batch of bacon.

"It's very kind of you to share," Willow said. "Especially for oatmealy goodness."

The smell of cooking bacon lured Billy down one floor. "Good morning all."

Billy did a bit of a double take. "Who's your friend?" Was he asking Nova? or the plushy? Who knows?

"Hey, Billy! How's it going?"

The plushie didn't seem to like being asked questions from someone it didn't know. It gave Billy a very mean look.

Nova gave his turtle a look that said 'Be nice'.

And billy couldn't help being amused at being glowered at by a plushy.

"It's going pretty well. Discarded the corset look I see." Then he imediately repented having said that. "Sorry."

"I'd rather we pretend the weekend did not happen," Willow said.

"I can do that." I'm pretending a lot of things in the past never happened

"So, how are you enjoying classes so far? And have you met Ami Mizuno?"

"I don't think so," Willow said. "Who's she?"

"She's one of the new students. Seems to enjoy school, almost as much as you."

"There can't be enough folks enjoying school if you ask me," Willow said.
