3rd Floor Common Room: Saturday Night [2-3]

Lana had been gradually feeling better since last night and by Saturday evening she was feeling ready to go out and socialize a little. But she thought it might be better to start off with the common room rather than heading into town.

So, she was currently curled up on the couch with some hot chocolate and some popcorn, with more set out in case anyone else wanted some, while she watched some random television.

After nearly spending the entire day in her room, Tori decided to venture out to the common rooms.

Tori smiled as she entered, smelling the hot chocolate.

Lana waved. "Hey, come on in. Have some hot chocolate and popcorn."

"Thanks." Tori smiled. "Lana, right? We have Conflict Managment together." She realized. "And we're both on cheerleading, right?"

[OOC: I don't believe Tori and Lana have officially met in game yet...]

Lana nodded. "Right. And you're Tori, yes?"

She shook her head. "Things have been so crazy I've been terrible about meeting new people, but yes, I do recognize you from class and cheer practice. So... did you manage to avoid the shadow attacks?"

"That's me." She smiled.

"This week has been hectic." Tori nodded. She paused, then shook her head, her smile fading. "No, unfortunately I didn't. But, I was only attacked once. How about you?"

"Just once," Lana said. "But they seemed to take an awful lot of energy." She shivered just thinking about it. "But I'm finally feeling warm again!"

Tori nodded, "They definitely did." She grimaced remembering the attack. But, it was over now, so she shook off the bad feelings and smiled. "As am I. Everything's back to normal, well, the kind of normal that is Fandom High." She smirked.

Lana grinned. "Already figuring that out, huh?"

Tori laughed. "I think I figured that out on the second or third day I was here."

"It takes some people a while," Lana said. "I think it's just so far outside what they can understand at first that they're in denial and try to find 'rational' explanations for it."

She shook her head, thinking about some of the new students she'd dealt with. "And then the first time they're caught in the middle of something they can't rationalize away..."

"I supposed it does." Tori agreed. She'd gathered that from some of the other newcomers.

"If you'll believe it, the shadows? Not one of the weirdes things I've seen before I came here."

"Really?" Lana said. "I mean, I do believe it, I've seen some pretty weird things back home too. But, where do you come from?"

"Yeah." Tori nodded, a small smile appearing on her face. "Blue Bay Harbor, California. It's a small city south of San Franscisco." She explained. "What about you?"

"Smallville, Kansas," Lana said, smiling back at her. "A little farm town in the middle of nowhere. But... it was home."

Tori smiled. "Home is where the heart is." It was a silly saying but it rang true.

"So besides the whole shadows experience, how are things?"

"Really good," Lana said. She couldn't keep the smile off her face as she thought about the past few months. "Classes are good, I've got a good job, and I have an amazing boyfriend."

Tori smiled warmly. "That's awesome!" She grinned. "A boyfriend, huh? That's great." She wondered if she knew him.

"Yeah," Lana definitely looked a little starry-eyed. "His name's Jim. Jim Ellison. We've been together pretty much since the beginning of fall semester and we just officially moved in together. Not that we hadn't been practically doing that anyway, but making it official..."

She grinned at Tori. "It's really nice."

Tori grinned at Lana's obvious high spirits. She was definitely in love. "That's really great, Lana. You seem very happy."

"I am," Lana said, happily. "So, how about you? Met any cute guys or girls?"

Tori shrugged. "I've met a lot of great people here and there are definitely a lot of cute guys to be found." She admitted, thinking of Neil and Chris, among others. Tori then thought of Blake and what could have been or still could be, if something was ever initiated.

"I sort of have a guy back home, but nothing ever happened between us and I don't why." Tori admitted. Though she knew part of the reason was due to Blake's racing career, and their time as rangers.

"There are some amazingly cute guys here," Lana agreed.

She couldn't help thinking about Clark when Tori mentioned having a guy back home that nothing ever happened with and made a little face. "That's tough - the not knowing, I mean," she clarified. "I kind of had something similar."

"It is." Tori agreed. "You did?" She smiled ruefully. "It really is tough, not knowing if something will happen, or if it'll just stay the way things are." Tori admitted.

Lana nodded. "In my case, though, I just couldn't handle all the secrets and lies. It was part of the reason I left home to come here."

"I imagine that wasn't fun to deal with." Tori nodded, imagining how hard it would be to deal with deception.

"How long have you been here for?"
