Tannim had a meatball sub (yay for not cooking!) and was watching America's Funniest Home Surgeries. He hadn't intended to watch this show, but he'd flipped the TV on to that channel and couldn't bring himself to change it.

Finally, a commercial broke the spell and he flipped through the channels until he found Puppy Bowl III on Animal Planet.

Nova walked into the second floor common room. He settled on the floor to watch puppies running across the television screen.

"Hey," Tannim said, with a wave.

"Hi," Nova said returning a wave. He looked toward the television, then looked back at Tannim.

"Puppies?"

Tannim grinned. "It's silly, huh? But very cute."

Nova just nodded. The cuteness could not be denied.

"What are they doing?"

"Just playing," Tannim said. "It's supposed to be a sort of puppy Super Bowl - see the mini-football field they're playing on? But they can't actually play football, so they're just running around and being cute."

"Ah, American football...." he said observing. He'd have to put this somewhere in his notes. Puppies engaged in battles of cuteness. It would go along with his notes on pirates.
