The posters advertising the dance were still there as well as more balloons and fresh Valentine's themed baked goods. There were tickets available for the dance as well as the sign-up sheet for the rose sale.

Isabel sat back and sipped her coffee, trying to look cheerier then she felt.

[Handwaving getting tickets or flowers is just fine. But chatting is always welcome. I'll be around most of the day. Comments on the flower post ARE screened.]

Katara was on her way outside when she noticed the balloons and the cupcakes and Isabel. (In that order sadly)

"Hi Isabel!" she said with a smile. "How are you? Why do you have so many cupcakes?"

"Hi Katara," Isabel smiled. "It's for Valentine's day. We're going all out."

"Valentine's Day?" She asked, eying the red balloons.

"Valentine's Day. It's a holiday to celebrate romance," she explained, all the while reminding herself not to get to cynical. "So we're having a dance to celebrate and people can send flowers to their friends and the people they care about."

"Hey Isabel!" Tori smiled as she walked into the lobby.

"Hi Tori," Isabel waved. "Are you going to the dance?"

"I definitely will be there." Tori grinned. "What about you?"

"Greg and I will be there," she nodded. "It'll be nice to actually have a date this year."

"Oh that's great!" Tori smiled. "I don't have one yet, but I don't mind if I end up going stag."

"Huh," Katara said thoughtfully. "The idea of romance? Or the specific. Cause I'm not romantic with anyone."

"Honestly I did that last year for both the Valentine's dance and for prom," Isabel admitted. "I still had a blast."

"Well if you listen to the greeting card companies, they'll make you feel like a failure as a person for not having found you one true love. Personally I say screw them, get some chocolate and hang out with your friends." And wow, so much for not being cynical.

"Very cool." Tori grinned. "I'm sure it'll be a blast."

"Granted if you do want a date, I bet you could find one. Last year it seemed like most of the eligible guys? Wound up dating each other," she said, snickering at the memory. "Odds look a little better this year."

Isabel had watched them set up and shook her head. "A dating service? Around here? You're ambitious."

Ami shrugged. "It was John's idea. I am just coding."

"Well honestly the student population has more then doubled since then," Isabel pointed out. "The odds had to get better, otherwise I might as well have gone to a convent school."

"Just be careful with that, you don't want to see anyone matched up with Fosse, the janitor troll," she laughed. "Although from a practical joke standpoint, that does have potential."

"The heuristics should be better then that..." Ami grinned "But yes. The practical jokes are almost countless."

Katara grinned. "I like that. So can I send roses to friends then? Even if they're not a boyfriend or something?"

"Sadly most of my friends are involved. Otherwise I'd be thinking of who to sign up," Isabel shrugged. "So are you going to the dance?"

"Oh absolutely," Isabel nodded. "I've sent a bunch to friends. It'll make them smile. That's what's important."
