Third Floor Common Room - Sunday Morning

Aly had woken up very, very hungry.  And she didn't want to wake up Mommy.  That would be bad. 

So instead she was very, very sneaky - she was going to be a spy after all and Daddy said she could be pretty too! - and crept out of the room until she found one of the big rooms with food in there.   She was awfully disappointed not to see Bridge making 'paghetti this time or Auntie Parkie with food though.

But there was food in the cupboards.  She knew it.  And that was why there was a weetiny blond girl carefully scaling the counter to get to the top cupboards where she just knew the good food was kept.

Aly snuck over to the doorway of the Common Room and left a banana peel right there.

Just to see what would happen.

Elliot was being a ballerina, so she pirouetted around the room.

As you do.

Unfortunately, one pirouette ended right on the banana peel. She wobbled, caught her self, lost herself, and fell. "OW!"

Josh covered his mouth with his hands to stop the laughter. "It worked!" he hissed to Aly.

Aly giggled into her arm. "It DID!" she whispered back. I like bananas now!"

"Yay!" Josh said back, giggling.

Aly gave him a high five. "Think we can get someone else now?"

"Totally," Josh said, nodding. "People are dumb."

"Why d'you think so?" Aly asked. "I know lotsa smart people. There's Mommy and Aeryn and Molly and Zuko and Daddy..."

"Someone just fell over a banana peel. It wasn't even all that sneaky," Josh argued. "Of course there are smart people. Like me and your mommy and daddy and that. But other people can be mani--thing."

Aly nodded. "Man-ip-lated," she said, proud that she knew a word the bigger boy didn't.

Josh nodded too. "Exactly! Manyplated." He giggled. "Bet if you cried that girl would give you cookies."

He pointed at Parker.

"Don' have ta cry," Aly said, proudly. "Just gotta look at 'em like this."

She gave a big eyed, hopeful look.

"You're gooooood," Josh said, impressed.

She beamed. "Thank you. Chad gave me cookies earlier. Want some?"

"Oh, thank you," Josh said. "When I'm President some day, you can be my Vice President in charge of getting people to give us things we want."

Aly went to get the cookies, but she was frowning when she came back. "What if I wanna be President?"

"Then you can run after I'm President," Josh said. "Lots of Vice Presidents turn into Presidents."

"Why can't I be President first?" she asked.

"'Cause I'm older," Josh said. "Duh."

"Okay," Aly said, the logic evidently appealing to her. "But I wanna be your head spy too."

Aly offered a hand because she felt this needed to be shook upon. "Deal. And you can be my Champion when 'm President."

Elliot pouted. "Meanie."

"Nuh uh!" Aly said. "Just wanted to see if it would work!"
