Rooms 201, 227, and The Hallway In Between, Wednesday Afternoon (after classes)

Anders had gone down to the office to file for an official room change, and as soon as it was approved he ran straight up to the second floor and started emptying his dresser drawers into trash bags, stacking books into boxes, and detangling all the cords to his computer.

Of course, the whole trash-bag approach had been pretty quick, but as he quickly discovered when he started lugging them down the hallway to 227, it was pretty cumbersome as well.

Moving the fridge was going to be fun . . .

"Yeeeeeaaaaaaaaaah?" Anders cleared his throat a bit.

"How'd that work?" Wyatt asked.

Anders shook his head. "Pretty much the same way, I think, only it was, like, black light."

"Like...a darklighter?" Wyatt said. He'd read up on them in the Book of Shadows after that whole weekend.

"Yeah," Anders said slowly. "I'm pretty sure that's what it was. I could, like, summon a crossbow and kill people with my hands and stuff."

He cringed. 'And stuff' was an understatement.

"Dude, darklighters knock up women to create evil spawns," Wyatt said.

Anders flailed. "And that too! But I don't think I got any girls pregnant. I hope."

Okay, he knew. But . . . yeah, not mentioning that.

"You're not even from this planet," Wyatt said. "How could you be a darklighter? That's just weird."

"Maybe there's a darklighter who looks just like me?" Anders shrugged. "It was creepy, dude."

"Yeaaaah," Wyatt said. He really didn't want to think about Darklighters (or his brother being one), so he tried to find a subject change. "So, uh, you're moving in with Bridge? Are you two, um, together then?"

Anders flailed at him, which was kind of hard with stuff in your hands. "What? Dude, no! No! No! There's just . . . there's lines you don't . . . no!"

"Calm down," Wyatt said mildly. "I was just asking."

Anders sighed at him. "Sorry. It's just . . . the best friend bond is sacred, and you don't . . . no."

Wyatt nodded. "I totally get that," he said.

"Just making sure that's clear," Anders told him.

Under his breath he added, "Lords, sleep with three guys and everybody thinks you're gay . . ."

Wyatt snickered, overhearing the comment. "Dude, that kinda is the definition of gay. It's not like it's a bad thing."

"Well, I'm glad you think so," Anders said dryly. "I'm not, though. I just . . . I dunno. People are people, whatever, you know?"

"Well, if you still like girls, then you're bi," Wyatt said helpfully.

"Thanks," Anders said, even more dryly. "For clearing that up."

Anders snorted and nudged Wyatt with his elbow. "Dork."

"Wrong Halliwell, that's my brother," Wyatt said, pushing open the door to 227.
