Lobby, all day during school, Cookie selling!

Buffy set up a small stand in the lobby. She had lots of cookies wrapped in pairs in gold and blue clingy stuff with a cheer sticker on. They were of course all delicious. She'd also made a poster going Buy Cookies! Support the Cheerleaders!

Billy had been turning over his worries about M in his mind, till he saw River, then after a brief pondering of just how much she'd picked out of his head, and an even briefer moment of musing that he was more worried about freaking her out and less about his secret getting out, began thinking of a song.

It was a song about a Squirrel getting loose in a church and scaring everyone strait.

The day the squirrel went berserk, in the first self righteous church,
In the sleepy little town of Pasta Ghouda.
It was a fight for survival,
Broke out in revival!
They were jumping pews and shoutin'
Hallelujah!

"So what kind of cookies do you guys have?"

That was a cute song. "Vanilla and black pepper," River suggested. "Or syrup and chili."

Well, Harv hit the aisles dancin' and screamin'
Some thought he had religion others thought he had a demon
And Harv thought he had a weed eater loose in his Fruit-Of-The-Looms
He fell to his knees to plead and beg and the squirrel ran out of his britches leg
Unobserved to the other side of the room

"Well that's an interesting combination." Billy said. "Uh, I think I'll buy some of the syrup and chili ones."

He'd eaten Gung Ho's gumbo. He could eat anything.

Still beaming, River handed him the cookies. "Let me know what you think."

[bedtime!]

"I will."

Annette was there, looking chipper, ready to sell cookies!

Jake had just come back from the office with his 'room change approved' slip, so he wasn't feeling particularly sociable. He was, however, feeling a need for cookies. "Hi Annette."

Annette smiled gently. She had heard the radio and figured that Jake was still all out of sorts. "Hey, Jake." She would have hugged him if she thought he would be all right with it.

"So. Cookies, huh?" He poked at the cookies. "I got your message by the way."

"Yeah. Lot's of them. I made the sugar cookies with the frosting and sprinkles, you know, if you like sugar cookies." She felt bad for him. "You did? I was wondering..."

"I haven't really been feeling very social." Jake shrugged a little, looking down at the sugar cookies. "I was going to call you back, but, yeah. I wouldn't mind a coffee or something when you're back from the competition though." Which was Jakeish for 'I need distraction from my emo, please'.

She nodded and looked down too. She understood that perfectly well. Or she thought she did, and it wasn't a good feeling at all. "That's okay, Jake. You didn't need to call me back. I was just...you know...And I would really like that, when I get back. Coffee."

Jake nodded back. "Call me when you, you know." He looked up again, smiling a little. "And I'd like four of the sugar cookies and two of the chocolate chips, please."

"I will, definitely." She tilted her head and smiled. She raised her brows at his order and got him everything he asked for. She put the three little bags of two cookies each, all in one bag for him to carry. Annette handed it over and ~~told him how much he owed because mun really has no idea ;-)~~ said, "Thanks, Jake. This is for a very worthy cause."

Jake handed over the money. "I'm sure it is." He picked up his bag and, with a little wave, walked away.

Annette watched him walk away and felt bad for him. Maybe he'd be feeling a little better when she came back and they went for that coffee.

Marco grinned when he saw Annette. "C is for Cookie?"

"C is for Cookie!" She laughed. "How are you today, Marco?"

"Good! I didn't know you were a cheerleader."

She nodded. "Yep, I am. Do you like cheerleaders, Marco?"

Marco paused. "Is that one of those questions where there's no right answer?"

Annette cocked her head, "It's a yes or no question, Marco." She smiled slowly.

"Yes?"

"Yes, you do?" She queried, messing with him. "Wouldn't you have liked to become a cheerleader, Marco?"

Marco totally didn't make odd noises, really. "I'll let people who are better at gymnastics and stuff do that for me."

She quirked her lips and said nothing else about cheerleading. "You want some cookies?"

Seely was totally ~~eating~~ selling cookies.

Parker stopped by on her way into town, and raised her eyebrows. "The competition is this weekend?"

Seely grinned. "Yeah."

Parker folded her arms and grinned. "So how many cookies should I be buying to support you guys?"

"As many as you can afford," Seely replied, giving Parker puppy eyes. "You want to show your school spirit, right?"

Parker snickered at the puppy eyes, then grinned. "Maaaaybe. Possibly I can afford, oh. Thirty dollars worth? How many cookies is that?"

"A lot."

"Then I guess I'll buy thirty." Parker grinned and handed over the money. "Win a lot in San Diego. Don't let anyone come back with broken bones."

Seely saluted Parker. "Will do."

Pippi pops by after talking to Pip in the shooting range.
