It was Oscars time, which meant, of course, it was time for a party, thrown together at the last minute because Zero had been in editing a lot recently. She had set out an array of handwavey bite-size tasty appetizers, big bowls of popcorn, and an assortment of sodas, water, and sparkling juices.

"Coup, definitely." Zero glanced at him. "Is that going to cause a problem for you, bein' a superhero an' all? 'Cause I could do it the legit way, it would just take, y'know, time."

"I'm only a superhero in New York. And Virginia. And Brazil," Peter said. "Coups in California aren't my concern."

"Oh, good, then," Zero said. "My coup can continue unimpeded."

"That'll be the best Oscar show ever," Peter said. "When's this happening, two years?"

"I was thinkin' I'd wait until I graduated from film school," Zero said. "So I have the credentials to back it up."

"That makes sense," Peter said. "Plus you'll learn some great special effects to use during the show, I'm sure."

"'Zactly," Zero told him. "I'm thinking I'll get Jon Stewart to host again, what d'you think?"

"I would love you forever," Peter said. "Moreso."

"Then I'll do it," Zero resolved. "It'll be the best Oscars ever."

"Bonus points if I get to present an award in costume," Peter said.

"How do you feel about the Special Effects award?" Zero asked him.

"Geeky and fairly appropriate. I like it," Peter said.

"Thought you would," Zero said with a grin. "S'either that or the science awards, an' they're a whole different thing."

"They don't even get televised," Peter said. "It's not worth it."

"No, but you do get to go up an' say, 'I gave out the science awards, go me.'"
