5th Floor Common Room - Friday morning

Pippi is lounging on the couch with a book and a large bowl of popcorn with m&m's mixed in.

Hmmm, salty AND sweet.

The book, oddly enough, is about fighter pilots dogfighting over Vietnam.

"I suppose that could be handy," he said. If he had a dragon, he would be able to catch the Avatar more easily.

"Don't eat me and let me fly on your back?" Zuko shrugged. He wasn't sure what you were supposed to say to a dragon.

"That's... a mouth full," Zuko said, not sure if he could repeat that.

Zuko shook his head. "We don't have anything to play recordings with," he explained. He wasn't sure if he minded. Most technology here was weird.

"Or you could just, you know, talk to it," Sokka chipped in offhandedly from across the room. "They understand people-talk just fine."

Sokka didn't reply to that; he just sort of grumbled. He had come off sounding like an arrogant jerk, when all he really was trying to do was one-up Zuko.

[Chocolate's very bad for chinchillas, yes. But... so's getting wet. Eh.]

"Me? No, not personally... My friend rode one, though." Sokka looked over at Momo Jr. grumpily. "Don't let him eat too much of that. He's got a very delicate stomach."

Momo Jr. nuzzled her affectionately and then started gnawing on her finger.

"Well, it wasn't for fun," Sokka said. "It was --"

Then he remembered Zuko was right there.

"Yeah," he finished, lamely.

"No one was talking to you," Zuko shot back. He hadn't even noticed Sokka in the room and berated himself for having dropped his guard like that.

[identity profile] sarcasm-guy.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, look. No one still is."

It wasn't much of a comeback, but... he hadn't had time to think of a better one. Yeah, that was it. ZING!

[identity profile] thebluespirit.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Zuko tried to repeat Pippi's... sounds, but he didn't think his voice was meant to talk like that. "I don't think I'll be running into a dragon," he decided.

[identity profile] thebluespirit.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Perhaps," Zuko glared at Sokka. "I should probably go. I have things to take care of."

[identity profile] thebluespirit.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
If he was going to try it in front of Sokka, he was going to make sure he did it right. So Zuko very slowly tried pronouncing the words again. It was at least a bit more understandable this time around.

"Turning it up... Alright," Zuko said slowly, having no clue what that meant. "I'll try to remember when I run into a dragon."
