The Preserve, Friday Evening

Rikku stood at the edge of the preserve. "Okay, are we ready for this?"

She looked around at the others, wondering why she was nervous. It was a lichen. A plant. This was totally doable. Probably.

They had spray bottles of some mixture of holy water and weed killer - Hermione had said it was Fred's idea, and whoever this Fred was, he was a genius. And they had their own wits and strength and luck. Plenty enough to take on an insane plant and save her roommate. This lichenthrope was going down.

She wasn't nervous. Mostly.

"A... Seriously? Moss?"

Sokka looked around at everyone. "A BIG moss? I mean, why do you need to fight a moss?"

Rikku waved to Sokka. "Because it's an evil undead lichenthrope moss thing that attacked my roommate and we have until the full moon eclipse whatever tomorrow night or she'll become one, too." She held out a spray bottle. "Wanna help?"

Sokka just sort of stared at her. "Uh... yeah. YEAH!" He took the proffered bottle and shook it in the air. "Lets GET THAT... PLANT... THING!!!"

He looked at Rikku again. "You do realize how weird this whole thing sounds, right? I mean, even for Fandom."

"Hey, after samurai fishthingies, not much is weird." She reconsidered. "Okay, it's kinda weird even then, I guess. This place is kinda crazy, huh?"

"Well, we don't know where it is." Zero gestured to Rikku. "She's got the weed killer."

"Have you looked on rocks?" Sokka asked dryly. "Or on the side of trees?"

"It's a forest," Zero replied just as dryly. "It's all rocks and trees."

"Yeah, and there's some lichen," Sokka said, pointing at some. "How can we tell which is the bad kind?"
