Marie was still extremely bouncy as she arrived at the gym, pulled out the mats and started some totally moddable music blasting to get ready for practice.

"Hey, everyone, we're going to break into groups and work on basket tosses today," she said. "Four to a group - two as bases, one to fly and one to spot."

Nadia looked down. "Yeah. Well. You hang around people who do imply you're an idiot, or worthless, or careless, or . . . you know, long enough and after awhile you hear everyone doing it."

Nadia let out a breath. "I don't know why I think I have to prove something to you. But I do." She shrugged. "Sorry if it seems like I take that out on you."
