Gym - Cheerleading Practice - Wednesday After Classes [3/7]

Marie was still extremely bouncy as she arrived at the gym, pulled out the mats and started some ~~totally moddable~~ music blasting to get ready for practice.

"Hey, everyone, we're going to break into groups and work on basket tosses today," she said. "Four to a group - two as bases, one to fly and one to spot."

"I'm usually a base because of being pretty steady at times," Phoebe said. "I'd like to try as a flyer?"

Pippi nodded.

"Maybe we should all work on positions we don't usually take." Pippi suggested. "I'll spot."

"I usually get tossed 'cause I'm light," Lana said. "So that sounds good."

She was even lighter than usual at the moment and wasn't at all certain she had the strength to throw anyone, but she was willing to give it a try.

"And since I can actually touch people, I wouldn't mind being a base," Marie said. "So Lana and I will toss Phoebe with Pippi nearby as a spotter."

Phoebe grinned. "That seems like a great plan to me."

Pippi saluted.

"Aye aye!"

Marie and Lana clasped their hands together and bent their knees, making a foothold for Phoebe. On the count of three, they tossed her into the air, Pippi standing close by in case she got off course coming back down.

Unfortunately for all of them, Marie had no idea that she had Peter Petrelli's repeating power at the moment and, being in close proximity to Pippi, who had the power of super strength, meant that Marie had the power of super strength, which meant that Phoebe flew a little higher in the air than anyone expected her to.

Okay, so Phoebe hadn't expected to be thrown so high up in the air. In fact, she was quite surprised that Marie and Lana had been able to throw her up so far. Well, she closed her eyes and waited for her descent, fully having faith that they would catch her when she came down.

Only... she was no longer moving. Not going up, not coming down. She opened her eyes.

In fact... she was hovering in mid-air.

She squeaked a little bit and then squeaked some more.

"Uhm... guys?!!!"

Pippi looks up at Phoebe.

"Huh."

Marie and Lana were both staring, but Marie was beginning to freak out. She had felt the surge of power and knew that she was the one who had thrown Phoebe so high.

"How did I do that? I didn't touch you," she turned to Pippi. "Right? I couldn't have gotten your power without touching you. So how did I do that?"

In the audience, Bel stared.

"I don't think I've touched you." she said looking from Marie to Phoebe and back again. "Either of you."

Phoebe flailed.

"Guys? Hello? I'm stuck! A little help here?!"

In the audience, Anders stopped mid-grabbing Bel's shirt, and stared too.

"I don't know what to do!" Marie said, also flailing. "I'm not doing whatever is keeping you up there."

"I got her." Pippi said jumping up.

Of course, once she got up to where Phoebe was, she gave her arms a little flap, and stayed there.

"Having a little trouble Phoebs?"

Phoebe was so startled to see that her friend could fly that she gasped, and suddenly she was falling.

Shr dropped to the ground, twisting an ankle under as she did so.

"Ow!" she cried out and then. "What just happened?"

Marie rushed to her side. "Ohmygod I don't know! Are you okay? I'm sooooo sorry."

Pippi tried to grab Phoebe when she started to fall but sadly didn't catch her and dropped down next to her friends.

"That's, not normal. Huh?"

Phoebe let herself sit on the floor as her ankle hurt.

"No, not normal." She shook her head at Marie. "Relax. It's not your fault." She looked at her friends. "Any idea what happened or how I got stuck up there?"

Phoebe's reassurances really weren't helping Marie feel any better.

"Well, I think somehow I picked up on Pippi's super strength," she explained. "But I didn't touch her, so I don't understand how. That's why you flew so high, though. But I don't know why you got stuck. Unless I somehow picked up on Pippi's power of flight and passed it along to you?"
