Second Floor Common Room; Saturday Night.

Turtle...was really freakin' bored. All the wetness and water made her really reluctant to want to go outside, and with Miley gone the room was stiffling in its boringness so she went out to the common room and was even bored by TV. It sucked. She still left it on, though, for background noise, and went to make herself a peanut butter and jelly bean sandwich with a big glass of milk to snack on while she sat at the table and intermittantly worked on her creative writing story, a crapload of stocks pattern charts, and a fake treasure map that maybe she'd try to convince someone was real, and that if they went out in the flooded town, all they'd have to do was look for circles of light in these spots and then go fishing to find some sooper sekrit treasure. She...saw something like that in a video game once. All the water was reminding her of it.

Haruhi had been keeping herself cooped up in her room-- partially, it was the rain that had been pouring lately, which she did her best to avoid-- but, finally, had the desire to come out. Unsurprisingly, Haruhi found someone else in the common room as well, and decided to join her.

Turtle looked at her map thoughtfully for a moment before deciding to add another circle in the park. One could never have too many. Her tongue poked out of the corner of her mouth as she tried to make it as perfect as possible, and then looked up toward the other person.

"Hello!" she said, kicking her legs a little because, yayyyy, maybe now she can finally not be bored because, omg, person!

"Hello," Haruhi greeted back, noting that she seemed hard at work out here. "Are you working on something? Sorry if I'm interrupting."

Turtle's eyes, still focused a little on her paper as she tried adding silly little details, like a duck in the park and samurai fishmen in the preserve, bulged a little. "You are so not interupting anything," she insisted. "I'm so bored that even if you tried to leave, I might throw this notebook at you to knock you unconscious so you'll stay."

Her head tilted. "Though, I guess that wouldn't help things much, because you wouldn't be much fun unconscious. I could draw on your face. That could be fun..."

"Anything going on in here?" Alec asked as he wandered in.

Haruhi blinked at the unexpected level of willingness to keep her around. "I would also appreciate it if you didn't knock me out unconscious, too," she commented. "I'm not in my room, so I'm not really in the mood to be sleeping."

"No," Turtle said with a sour wrinkling of her nose. "Which is lame because I' really bored..." The wrinkling turned into a pout. Time for more random circles. This one would go in the store...

Haruhi shook her head mixed in with a shrug in response. "I can't say there is, yet."

"I'm sure the couch is comfortable," Turtle assured her with a smirk. "And, good, this means you'll stay. You can help me think of good spots for fake treasure."

Haruhi lifted an eyebrow. "I probably wouldn't be the best candidate for that."

Turtle met Haruhi's lifted eyebrow with an arched one. "It isn't like placing fake treasure is hard," she pointed out.

"Yeah, the flood's kind of a deal breaker for going out," Alec said, flopping down on the couch.

No, it wasn't, but it was the kind of child's play Haruhi tried to avoid. "Well, then you probably don't need my help for it."

"Maaaan, I should just go get my knitting," Alec complained, then glanced at Haruhi. "Do I know you?"

"Definately," Turtle agreed. "I am very much a land creature..."

And then she giggled when she realized the irony of her statement.

A lot, head thumping down on her notebook as they overtook her a little. Because she was that bored.

Turtle's head tilted slightly at that because, heck, that was a pretty good point. "Huh."

She considered Haruhi carefully. "....Good point." And then she put the map away for a moment and went back to her stock charts. Because, for some reason, changing her work to something she was pretty sure Haruhi couldn't help her with put her back at the head of the situation.

"Sounds like it could be slightly more productive than what's happening at the moment," Haruhi replied. And, well, no, she really didn't think twice about a guy taking up knitting. She inspected Alec for a moment before answering, "No, I don't believe we've met before."

Alec snickered. "Maybe you should change your name to 'Tortoise'?"

"It keeps my hands busy, at least," he said. "And I'm Alec. Kind of surprising there's still people I haven't met here yet."

Haruhi nodded once, satisfied with the response. Belatedly, she gave Turtle a thoughtful glance. "Oh, you're in one of my classes, aren't you?"

"I haven't gone around and about too much," Haruhi admitted. "So there's still plenty of others I haven't met, yet."

"Actually," Turtle said, in a very matter-of-fact tone, "that's my superhero name."

Turtle looked at Haruhi with a tilted head. "Uh, yeah. You're in Fairy Tales, right?"

"Right," she confirmed. "I thought you looked familiar."

She nodded. "Turtle Wexler," she offered, in case Haruhi didn't recall the name. Because Turtle sure as heck didn't recall hers.
