Turtle...was really freakin' bored. All the wetness and water made her really reluctant to want to go outside, and with Miley gone the room was stiffling in its boringness so she went out to the common room and was even bored by TV. It sucked. She still left it on, though, for background noise, and went to make herself a peanut butter and jelly bean sandwich with a big glass of milk to snack on while she sat at the table and intermittantly worked on her creative writing story, a crapload of stocks pattern charts, and a fake treasure map that maybe she'd try to convince someone was real, and that if they went out in the flooded town, all they'd have to do was look for circles of light in these spots and then go fishing to find some sooper sekrit treasure. She...saw something like that in a video game once. All the water was reminding her of it.

Turtle's eyes, still focused a little on her paper as she tried adding silly little details, like a duck in the park and samurai fishmen in the preserve, bulged a little. "You are so not interupting anything," she insisted. "I'm so bored that even if you tried to leave, I might throw this notebook at you to knock you unconscious so you'll stay."

Her head tilted. "Though, I guess that wouldn't help things much, because you wouldn't be much fun unconscious. I could draw on your face. That could be fun..."

Haruhi blinked at the unexpected level of willingness to keep her around. "I would also appreciate it if you didn't knock me out unconscious, too," she commented. "I'm not in my room, so I'm not really in the mood to be sleeping."

"I'm sure the couch is comfortable," Turtle assured her with a smirk. "And, good, this means you'll stay. You can help me think of good spots for fake treasure."

Haruhi lifted an eyebrow. "I probably wouldn't be the best candidate for that."

Turtle met Haruhi's lifted eyebrow with an arched one. "It isn't like placing fake treasure is hard," she pointed out.

No, it wasn't, but it was the kind of child's play Haruhi tried to avoid. "Well, then you probably don't need my help for it."

Turtle's head tilted slightly at that because, heck, that was a pretty good point. "Huh."

She considered Haruhi carefully. "....Good point." And then she put the map away for a moment and went back to her stock charts. Because, for some reason, changing her work to something she was pretty sure Haruhi couldn't help her with put her back at the head of the situation.

Haruhi nodded once, satisfied with the response. Belatedly, she gave Turtle a thoughtful glance. "Oh, you're in one of my classes, aren't you?"

Turtle looked at Haruhi with a tilted head. "Uh, yeah. You're in Fairy Tales, right?"

"Right," she confirmed. "I thought you looked familiar."

She nodded. "Turtle Wexler," she offered, in case Haruhi didn't recall the name. Because Turtle sure as heck didn't recall hers.

"Haruhi Fujioka," she replied in return; Haruhi wouldn't have been able to blame her if Turtle did forget, it wasn't like they'd ever actually talked.

Turtle blinked. "Haruhi Fujioka?" She especially emphasized all the parts of the surname. "That's a...bit of a mouthful."

"Well, you could call me by just my first name, if it is," Haruhi suggested.

Turtle wondered if Haruhi Fujioka knew that saying such only made Turtle want to call Haruhi Fujioka only by Haruhi Fujioka. Possibly as one word. Haruhifujioka. It'd make a great band name.

"That Japanese?" she asked. As if, you know, she couldn't tell by ~~the huge anime eyes~~ looking at Haruhifujioka.

"Yes, it is," Haruhi~~fujioka~~ answered. "I'm from Japan."

"So, do you know Kaoru and Hikaru?" Because, clearly, everyone from Japan had to know each other.

"Those two sure get around," Haruhi commented, before actually answering, "Yes, I do."

"Why do you suppose one is so evil and the other is not?" Turtle asked, feeling strangely philosophical about the whole idea and thinking that she hasn't cause nearly enough tormet for Hikaru lately, and decided promptly to work on changing that.

There was a pause, and, if you looked closely enough, perhaps a slight hint of amusement on Haruhi's face. "I don't think I would be able to tell you why," she began. "but I am going to take a wild guess and assume you mean Hikaru; who, I have to agree, is somewhat more irrational and hot-headed than Kaoru."

"I don't know about irrational and hot-headed," Turtle said with a shrug, "but more along the lines of the fact that Kaoru's entirely likable and Hikaru....is evil."

In fact, Turtle was thinking that it's been wayyy too long since she kicked Hikaru...

"I wouldn't put it to that extreme," Haruhi said. "Though, Kaoru is entirely capable of being just as mischievous as his brother."

"I've yet to see it," Turtle shrugged again. "He's much more nice and compatable."

And boring, Turtle added to herself, though she wasn't going to say that. Not when she had to work with Kaoru for their fairy tales project.

"Well, he is," Haruhi confirmed. "Though, sometimes I do enjoy their company, so neither one of them are that terrible of a person."

Turtle had to admit, she was finding Haruhifujioka pretty boring, too. She sighed. "Guess not. So, uh, what are you into?"
