Fourth Floor Common Room, Late Morning

Gwynn was dressed in her best dress and her hair was carefully done. There was no sign of her usual leather wear or her boots. In fact, there was nothing with her that even looked like she was the daughter of Robin Hood. She was sitting on the couch with her legs tucked up under her and she was reading what might have been a magazine. From the slight blush on her face, it was obvious that it wasn't your run of the mill magazine.

Gwynn smiled at him in confusion. "Greetings, Conner. Makeover? I'm not sure I understand what you mean."

He frowned a little and gestured at the dress. "You're all . . . extra girly today. What's up with that? And what are you reading?"

If he was quick enough before she hid it, he might have made out the letters "Vari" on the cover.

"But this is how a lady is supposed to dress."

Conner frowned again. "My friend Kira would freak if she heard you say that. It's not like a rule or anything, Gwynn."

Gwynn batted her lashes at him. "But as I have been told, a lady is supposed to dress properly and act in a kind and demure manner. To do otherwise is unseemly."

"Who said that?" Conner demanded, incredulous. "I like it when girls take charge. That's really hot."

He might have been talking about Lana's aggressiveness the other night, but he hadn't spent two years being friends with Kira Ford without learning something.

"Really?" Gwynn asked... before she grabbed him and kissed him.

Conner? Was flailing. But not in a bad way. Mostly.

". . . like I said," he blurted out, his face as red as his shirt.

Gwynn smiled at him. "Like that?"

Conner blinked a few times. "Can we go back to what I said about how girls taking charge is hot?"

Gwynn had no problems with this, and kissed him again.

This kissing of him was very much fun.

Uh huh. He was actually enjoying it a lot more than kissing Lana the other day, truth be told. He wasn't sure why, exactly.

"Is this one of the perks of being your hero?"

Gwynn smiled and hugged him. "One of many perks, yes." She smiled up at him. "I like your kisses."

Conner and his ego were very pleased with this evaluation. "I've got more where those come from, you know."

"Then I would like many more of them."

"Okay, then," Conner said. "All part of the hero thing."

He was a very generous hero.
