Third Floor Common Room, Late Friday Afternoon

Maybe the wuss wasn't sleeping enough, maybe it was end-of-year stress, but for whatever reason, the real Tyler had been getting a lot more time to play lately -- which he was greatly enjoying. He'd stayed out in the woods for almost two days, putting together ... well, call it a present for the school.

Now, though, he was hungry. He whistled as he walked into the common room and started to throw together a big pot of vegetable soup -- enough to share, if anyone came by.

[OOC: Especially for the last scene-sters, but open. There will be one more post tomorrow if RL doesn't snatch me away.]

Evie came back in from ice-cream with Jack, and waved to Tyler as she settled in to watch some television. "Hello, Tyler. How are you?"

Evie turned pink, then laughed. "Oh, don't remind me. And thank you, I just had ice cream. I haven't seen you around lately. Are you keeping busy?"

"Ohh? Another project?" Evie asked, looking interested. "And I can understand that. Oh! I'm in Self Defense Club now, did I tell you? I want to learn to use knives, like Nefertiri did."

Evie accepted that and answered him, "Irulan knows knives! She's teaching me. So I'm learning how to fall and block and throw a punch in the club, and she's showing me how to do a kind of Tai-Chi and how to hold knives and block and slash! It's lovely." She bounced on the couch, and flipped channels happily. "Mind you, it might be years and years before I'm really any good. But you have to start somewhere."

"Oh, she's really become much more accustomed to Fandom the last few weeks. Her home is just very, very different from here," Evie said confidingly. "I think she likes it better now that she's used to it. And her hats... well." She paused. Because really. "Well."

"You do!" Evie said in relief, glad he'd found a positive way to put that. "I need to find more modern clothing, I think. Nothing like what some of the girls wear. But jeans are very useful, aren't they? And everyone wears them."

Evie beamed at him, and said, "Thank you. That's a very nice compliment, Tyler." She checked her watch. "I should probably be getting ready for Self Defense Club. I hope I see you around again soon."
