2nd Floor Common Room [Friday Evening]

Sometime earlier that evening, the spell that had been blocking his powers disappeared. Which meant Bridge was in a much better mood than he'd been all week. So, out in the common room. Channel surfing and munching on popcorn.

"Well...couldn't it come back?"

"I don't think so," Bridge says. "I mean, I'm pretty sure."

"Do you know what caused it in the first place?" Z asked him. "'Cause that would be a start."

"Um, yeah," Bridge says. "Lana was possessed by a witch and cast the spell. I think that it's gone means she must be unpossessed, so... yay?"

"Well, we should find out for sure, right?" Z said. "This really doesn't seem like the kind of thing you should take for granted. I mean. Remember the last time our powers stopped working? We got kidnapped by Gruumm." Z thought Bridge was being a little blase about this, yes.

"They're fine now!" Bridge says. "And you said nothing happened to you so really we shouldn't worry about it!"

"Because I'm the only one we should be worrying about here." She sighed. "Look, it shouldn't be too hard to verify, right? If somebody unpossessed Lana, it'll be on the radio or I can ask them about it. Right?" Look at Z, using detective skills!

"Exactly," Bridge says. "Wait for radio. Good plan!" He gives Z a thumbs up.

"I can't believe you're so calm and accepting about someone messing with your powers. Again."

"I spent most of this week freaking out about it," Bridge admits. "Now I'm just relieved they're *fine* again."

Z was mollified. "Well. Okay then." She didn't like the idea of people messing with Bridge, but if he didn't care, what was she going to do about it? "Pass the popcorn."

"If it happens again I promise I'll get it checked out," Bridge offers, passing Z the popcorn.

Z grabbed a handful of popcorn and warned, "If you don't, I reserve the right to drag you to the clinic. Or tell Cruger on you!" She totally wouldn't tell Cruger, though. Z wasn't a sell-out.

...if you ignored the SPD uniform, Z wasn't a sell-out.

"You wouldn't tell Cruger," Bridge observes.

"If I thought you were in danger, I would." She really wouldn't.

"Uh huh."

"Really." Visions of Commander Cruger going, "Fail! Tiny card jail for you!" were not dancing in her head, either. Really.

Cruger probably wouldn't refer to it as tiny card jail. "What, are you gonna put me in one of those bubble things?"

Probably not. "No." She didn't have a bubble thing, after all.

"And you can't exactly keep me locked in my room," he points out.

Z went thoughtful. "No, that's true. You're just on the second floor; you could go out the window."

"Exactly," Bridge agrees.
