5th floor common room, Monday evening

Annette was taking out the stress of her day on the kitchen foods and appliances in the common room. Did it matter that she couldn't cook? No. Did it matter that she had no idea what it was she was wanting to eat? No. Currently she was doing her best to crack eggs in a bowl. She dropped two on the floor, another one on the counter, and in her bowl were three with pieces of shell floating around in the raw egg.

Whisking the eggs together with a fork, she was mumbling under her breath and making quick, jerky movements. "Eggs. I'm fixing eggs. That's what I'm doing. Eggs in a pan. Dammit. Just freaking eggs. It's not that hard. Geeze."

She dumped the whisked eggs into a too hot pan on the stove and left them to cook for a minute while she opened the pantry to look for something else to cook. "I need cake. A chocolate cake. How the crap do you make a freaking chocolate cake? I need flour. Man, I want a chocolate cake. Sugar. Cocoa? Gahhh!"

Tori made her way up to the fifth floor, hoping to find people out and about. And that she did.

"Hey Annette." Tori grinned as she made her way into the common room. "How are you?"

Annette looked over her shoulder at Tori, "Hey, Tori. I don't know how I am yet. I'm making dinner." She gave her a small smile. "How are you? Blake around?"

Tori frowned. "Dinner, nice. Everything okay?" She shook her head, laughing slightly. "No, I imagined him up as a result of a spell placed on me." She didn't really want to disclose who had done it, but maybe Annette had heard the radio broadcast. "Though I didn't know it at the time."

"Yeah, I want chocolate cake." Didn't make sense after all the sugar she's had recently, but hey, Annette rarely made sense these days. "Maybe? I haven't decided yet. Been one heck of a day. Been one heck of a weekend too."

She grinned and set the ingredients she wanted on the counter. "Ah-ha. So a spell. Dang, and here I thought I was going to get to meet him." She heard the radio broadcast but didn't want to bring it all up either.

"Chocolate cake sounds good." Tori smiled. "Oh yeah? Are you sure you're okay?" She was genuinely concerned.

"Yeah, I really hope you can meet him sometime soon, though he's racing at home and across the country until I decide to make them visit. Maybe the boys will make a surprise visit, I'm sure they'll be up here for graduation."

Annette decided she better stir her eggs and she frowned greatly seeing that they were totally stuck to the pan. "No. I mean I'm not that great. Got into a little bit of trouble but I'll be okay. Promise."

Lifting the hot pan, she pushed it back off the hot eye and just left it. She was ready to concentrate on making her cake.

"Oh, that's good. I bet they you miss, uh?"

"Okay." Tori smiled and nodded. "Yeah, I've never gotten so many e-mails from them." She couldn't help but laugh.

She raised a brow and dumped some flower into a bowl, creating a flour cloud that hit her right in the face. Coughing just a little, Annette waved her hand.

"Uh...so this Blake? He is the one you like?" Cause she remembered her blushing.

Tori smirked. "Are you okay?" She couldn't help but laugh a bit.

"He is." Tori blushed brightly.

"Yeah, just a little flour. Didn't realize it could do that." She grinned.

"I hope he comes then, Tori. I really do. It would be nice if he could come and take you to Prom. You going with anyone yet?"

"Me either." Tori admitted, with a grin.

"I do too. Oh, that would be great. But, motocross tour and all." She didn't mind really. Blake was living his dream and she was happy for him. "No, not yet. Are you planning on going? I'm assuming if you are, it would be with Dick right?"

That made Annette feel better. "You can't cook either, Tori?"

"Uh, kind of sucks but good for him! And yes, I am going with Dick." She smiled brightly, making the flour on her face crease. "I hope the evening will be fun cause I am really looking forward to it. I hope you go, Tori." Annette said with genuine warmth.

Tori grinned and shook her head. "I can make smoothies and a few other things. I'm trying to learn more difficult dishes."

Tori smiled. "Yeah." She let out a small sigh. "But what can you do?" It was rhetorical. "Oh, that's great! I'm sure you two will have a blast. From what Isabel told me about the theme, it's going to be great." She grinned. "I bought my ticket this morning. And there's one on the side for me. In case I decide to go with someone or someone asks me."

Annette was making a face at the mess she made; burnt eggs, raw eggs on the floor and counter, and a bowl full of flour. "I can't cook. I don't know if I even ever want to learn." She grinned over at Tori. "Although Mr. Phale taught me how to make gingersnaps. I just have to have a recipe." Course, even with a recipe she had to be directed in what to do. It was a little disheartening.

"Oh what is the theme? If I heard, I forgot already." What with all her getting in trouble lately. Gah. "Tori, you are too sweet and too beautiful to have to go alone. Have faith. Someone is going to ask you."

"Gingersnaps? That's great." Tori grinned. "Recipes are key." She teased.

"It's A Night in Venice. It sounds wonderful." Tori admitted, smiling brightly. "Thanks, Annette." She blushed, appreciating the warm compliments. "Well, if you say so." Tori smiled, not beyond hope.

"Yeah, if you can follow them correctly." Annette smiled wryly. "I think I'll just do what my mom and dad have done since...forever." She winked at Tori, "Hire a cook."

"Oh, an Italy theme? I love Italy. I've been there once and would truly love to go again. It is a romantice place. A better theme for the prom couldn't have been chosen."

Marco came into the room. "Hey Annette. Killing eggs?"

"So very true." Tori snickered. "Sounds like a plan, I guess." She teased.

"I cannot wait to see what the decorations look like. I've never been there but I have a feeling it's gorgeous." Tori admitted, smiling. "Definitely not. Kudos to Isabel and the rest of the Student Council for thinking of this theme."

"No," she said, looking over her shoulder at him. "They were already dead to begin with. I'm sure of it."

"Probably sounded a little spoiled, didn't it?" She said with a sheepish grin. "I suppose if I don't want to starve it's either that or just eat fast food for the rest of my life and I can't do that. Wait. No. I could do that." She laughed.

"Much much love for the theme! Whoohoo! Hey, do you know the exact date of it yet?"

"Oh no." Tori shook her head. "Not at all." She hadn't meant it to sound that way. "Fast food, definitely not good every day." She laughed.

"Definitely. It's this upcoming Saturday." Tori explained.

Annette laughed, "It's okay, I will say it myself. It sounded spoiled." And after being at Fandom for awhile, her eyes opened to a bunch of things that were different from being at home. "I can't imagine my thighs after two straight weeks of fast food, let alone the rest of my life."

"This Saturday? Oh, no." Crap! CRAP CRAP CRAP!

"Oh man, yeah. I don't think I want to think about what would happen to mine, either." Tori mock shuddered.

She frowned. "Uh oh?"
