5th floor common room, Monday evening

Annette was taking out the stress of her day on the kitchen foods and appliances in the common room. Did it matter that she couldn't cook? No. Did it matter that she had no idea what it was she was wanting to eat? No. Currently she was doing her best to crack eggs in a bowl. She dropped two on the floor, another one on the counter, and in her bowl were three with pieces of shell floating around in the raw egg.

Whisking the eggs together with a fork, she was mumbling under her breath and making quick, jerky movements. "Eggs. I'm fixing eggs. That's what I'm doing. Eggs in a pan. Dammit. Just freaking eggs. It's not that hard. Geeze."

She dumped the whisked eggs into a too hot pan on the stove and left them to cook for a minute while she opened the pantry to look for something else to cook. "I need cake. A chocolate cake. How the crap do you make a freaking chocolate cake? I need flour. Man, I want a chocolate cake. Sugar. Cocoa? Gahhh!"

Marco came into the room. "Hey Annette. Killing eggs?"

"No," she said, looking over her shoulder at him. "They were already dead to begin with. I'm sure of it."

"Did you ask them?"

She gave him a look. "Come here, Marco. Come stand by me."

Marco walked over to Annette. "Yes?"

"Look down at these eggs. I think they are beyond dead. I can't hear them. They're not even moving. Or breathing. They couldn't possibly answer me back."

Marco glanced down at the eggs and picked one up. He gave it a little shake. "Help Marco! Annette is going to cook us and hurt us and torture us while we're still young and pretty! Help us!" He said in a very high voice while shaking the egg.

Annette stared at him, then she plucked an egg from the counter and held it up to her ear, "This is the king of eggs. Don't listen to that little runt of a dead chick. We are all dead. It is our lot in life to get cooked and consumed."

Grinning, she set the egg down and said to Marco, "See? They are all dead."

"If the king is dead, how can he be talking?" Marco pointed out. "And this egg is bigger than your egg."

"Size does not matter." She said smiling. "The king is the only one that is alive when he's dead. The others are just dead dead."

Marco blinked. "How can the king be both alive and dead? Won't that make him a zombie?"

Blink. "...uh, yeah, and only when his shell has been cracked open. Zombie Chick. That's what he is."

"That won't make a very good omellette." Marco pointed out.

She shrugged with a grin, "It's his lot in life. Besides, whatever I come up with will hardly be an omellette. I don't know what the crap I'm doing here."

Marco glanced around the food. "I, suprisingly, actually know how to cook. What are you trying to make?"

"I was going to fix some eggs." She shrugged. "Any kind. And I was going to try and make a chocolate cake."

"The chocolate cake is a little above me. Unless it's the kind from a box where you just add eggs and milk."

"No. No box. Didn't see a box. I guess I will forget out my chocolate cake. But you can help me do eggs right? Cause I'm hungry."

"Omellete, scrambled, or, my personal favorite, toss stuff on a skillet and see what happens?"

It didn't matter to Annette, she was just hungry and now so very thankful that Marco was going to help her cook.

"I don't care." she beamed at him and gave his shoulder a little squeeze. "Whatever you want to do is perfect with me."
