Lobby - All Day

Layla headed down to the lobby as early as she could to set up the tables for Prom ticket buying and Prom Court nominations.

She didn't go crazy with the glitter, but there was definitely more of it scattered around than there had been yesterday. Not that she was hoping the Fandom effects of glitter would happen to any of the boys who came by, of course.

[OOC: Open! It's the same deal as yesterday - only Juniors and Seniors can buy Prom tickets though they can bring underclassmen. Prom Court nominations are open for all students, regardless of class. And the handbook has a list of the Juniors and Seniors.]

Buffy walked through the lobby on her way to class. She saw all the prom stuff, and then she said, thoughtfully, "Hmmm", before moving on.

Yesterday's try didn't work, so Sokka tried a different tactic today. He just walked up to the table, set down his money, and said "Two, please."

Sokka raised his eyebrows at her. "The dance is only for juniors and seniors, right?" he asked. "And here I am trying to buy a ticket. So... Yeah. What do you think?"

A list??? She had a list! Time for quick thinking!

He tried to peek at the list without her noticing, and saw a name down near the bottom that would work just fine.

"Zuko," he announced confidently. "I'm Prince Zuko."

"Eh, you heard wrong. I'm here for the dance thing."

"Well," Sokka began, and then stopped. No names. Nothing traceable back to him. "...I haven't decided yet. But trust me, I'll have someone by Saturday."

"You're Evie's roommate???" Sokka squeaked. So much for avoiding Layla during the dance. He coughed and shook his head. "I mean, yes, okay, I'll keep that in mind. So... The tickets, please?"

So it's come to this again, has it?

Sokka slid a twenty onto the table. "You're sure there aren't any in there?"

Ah, but then there's the OTHER approach. Which he should have tried before bribery. Ahh, hindsight.

"Okay, look," he said, in a calm, even, 'okay, I'm being serious now' tone of voice. "Let's start this over. Hi, I'm Sokka. Zuko really doesn't deserve tickets to anything, if he ever even does come back. But I'd really like to take Evie to the dance."

He paused. "Er... She's not on the list, is she? I don't think so, but..."

Sokka sighed. "Eh, well. I'll keep trying." He shrugged and headed for the stairs, wondering who'd be selling tickets tomorrow.
