Stairwell, Tuesday evening

Sokka had just left the lobby and started climbing the stairs to the fifth floor. After climbing a few flights, he began to realize something was VERY wrong -- none of the landings had doors on them. After a few more flights without any doors, he got scared and raced back down the stairs to the door he had come in through. Which wasn't there. In fact, there wasn't any bottom to the stairs whatsoever -- they seemed to go up and down into infinity.

Sokka leaned out over the railing and looked down and saw, at the very edge of his vision, a tiny figure leaning out over the railing and looking down. He waved his arm, and so did the distant figure.

Sokka sighed, and stood there peering at the back of his own head for a good long time. "I guess it does look like a ponytail," he mumbled to himself, and then he started climbing the stairs again, because, really, what else could you do?

At one point he thought he saw a door -- labeled "1.618th Floor" -- out of the corner of his eye, but when he turned, it was gone. Sometimes, Fandom weirdness was fun, but sometimes, it really wasn't.

[[OOC: Sokka's a victim of the bendy reality. Post is open for anyone else who wants to come get trapped on the stairs for the evening.]]

After Sokka had been climbing for a while, there came the sound of a door opening from a few flight down. Then the sound of someone starting to run up the stairs.

SLAM went the door as if in punctuation to Sokka's order.

The footsteps stopped. "What? Why?" Molly called up.

Molly was still confused and was still staring up the stairs as Sokka made his way down to where she was. "Why wouldn't the door be there?"

Molly finally turned around and looked at the complete absence of door where she had come in. "Oh. Oops!" She gave Sokka a sheepish grin.

Not exactly sure what to do, Molly went up to Sokka and patted him on the shoulder. "There aren't any doors at all?"

Molly went over to the edge and did as he requested. Looking down, she only saw more stairs until, way down, she saw someone else leaning over the rail. "Hey! There's someone else down there! Hello!" she called.

Molly waved an arm. The figure below her waved an arm. "Huh. Weird." She stood up again and went and sat down next to Sokka. "I guess we just have to wait until the building lets us out then."

"I've been good!" Molly said. "I almost never have homework so this semester has been really easy. How about you?"

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2007-04-11 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
"You have a chinchilla!? How cool! What's it's name?"

"Your best friend has a lemur! Wow!" Molly said. "I have a friend who has a telepathic dinosaur. Her name is Old Lace."

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2007-04-11 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
"A dinosaur," she repeated. "A big giant lizard? They don't live on Earth now, but they used to a long time ago."

Molly nodded. "She's really cool. Sometimes, she lets me ride around on her back."

Molly just looked at Sokka for a moment. "I can just ask Katara about it later you know. She'll tell me if you're lying."

Molly frowned. "I'm sorry," she said sympathetically. She searched her brain for another topic. "So, do you think you'll be staying here for the summer?"

Molly hopped up and did her best at a brief curtsy to Sokka. "Thank you," she said and walked through the door. "It was lovely being stuck in the stairwell with you."
