Rikku raised an eyebrow at the hat, giggling. "Okay, that's just ... weird. You know that, right?"

She might be planning on stealing some of the Easter candy. He should totally be on guard for that.

Jude slurped on his straw happily. "Weird? Bra, you totally can't tell me this is weird."

He was totally planning on sharing. In exchange for snuggles, of course.

"Your hat has drinks on it. That's, like, the definition of ... hey, what kinda drinks are they, anyway?"

And now she totally grabbed some of the Easter candy and dug in. Luckily, she was already planning on snuggles. "So ... we're watching bad movies? On purpos?"

"Cream soda," he replied, offering her the straw.

"Totally. On purpose is the only way you should watch bad movies."

Rikku took a swig from the straw. "Oooh, I like! Is there more of it?" She hopped up to look around at the snack stash.

"You'd think you shouldn't watch bad movies. Like, you know, at all. Since they're bad?"

Jude tossed her a refill can from his neatly constructed pyramid.

"Y' see, bra," Jude explained mellowly, "there are bad movies, and then there are movies so bad they're good. These are the so bad they're good ones."

Rikku grabbed the can and grinned. "Thanks! And ... okay, that makes no sense. Things don't do that. I mean, do they?"

She settled in a bit, fidgeting. "Uh, and. You know. I'm really sorry? About ... everything?"

Hey, if he wanted a better apology, he'd have to wait until they weren't watching bad movies on purpose.

Jude draped his arm around her shoulders and kissed the top of her head. "You know it's like totally already forgiven."

"Thanks," she said softly. "And for being all awesome and you about it, too."

Rikku snuggled in a bit. "So what's this one about?"

"Uh . . . swamp creature terrorises small mid-Western American town," Jude said, actually having to think about it for a second.

Rikku looked up at him. "Seriously? A swamp creature? How hard would that thing be to kill?"

Seriously, it'd take maybe a frag grenade, max.

Jude shrugged. "I dunno. Never killed a swamp creature before."

Rikku considered for a minute. "Whoa, neither have I! We should go to the Midwestern wherever and find some. I bet we could take one."

"Bra," Jude said, sounding a little pained. "It's just a movie."

"Well, yeah, but ..." She looked at him. "There aren't swamp-things? 'Cause there were zombies in one of these movie-things, and I mean, I've killed those."

"Well, I dunno if there are swamp-things or not, 'cause there could be, but I'm pretty sure there aren't . . . 'sides, why would we kill it for no reason?"

"You said it was terrorizing a small town," she noted helpfully. "And it might have fun stuff we could swipe."

Rikku looked at him curiously. "Not, uh, not interested in tagging along on monster-killing, huh?" Not that she was considering anything. Or reconsidering, possibly.

"Not really," Jude said sheepishly. "I think I'd be pretty bad at it."

"Yeah," she said, shaking her head and trying not to sound disappointed. "I-I mean, besides, that'd probably be boring, right? Just ... hanging out while someone else killed fiends."

Hey, maybe Rin wouldn't have had extra lunar curtains anyway.

Jude frowned and squeezed her close for a second. "Hey bra, something up?"

Rikku laughed a bit, shaking her head. "Just a stupid idea I had. Not important. Don't know why I was thinking of it anyway."

She grabbed more of the candy. "Seriously, no swamp things? You're sure?"

"I've never seen one. And like, if anywhere is going to make creepy mutated sludge things, it would be Lake Ontario."

He stole some candy from her hand with his mouth.

"Hey!" she giggled, pointing at him sharply. "No! Bad Jude." She then poked the tip of his nose.

"Maybe we go check out Lake Ontario! Is it nice? Oh. I mean. Other than the sludge." She giggled again. "Guess that's a no?"

Jude looked hurt for all of two seconds before he kissed the tip of her finger.

"It's nice to look at, but I wouldn't go swimming there . . . the ferry ride to Toronto Island's really cool, you get an awesome view of the skyline."
