Third Floor Common Room, Sunday Morning

Tori had a wonderful time at prom last night, better than she could have imagined. She wished time could move slower though, she didn't want the year to end just yet. Especially when it meant some people would be leaving and she might not see them again.

An early morning person, Tori made her way into the common room kitchen, having decided to make an ample amount of pancakes. That was something she could cook without ruining it. People were probably going to be sleeping for a while but Tori decided to make enought pancakes for the floor and then some, regardless.

She set up orange juice, water, tea, coffee and milk on the table along with syrup and other moddable breakfast condiments. She placed pancakes along with everything as they were made.

Kimberly stared at her options and started chewing her lip in thought. "A little bit of everything," she decided.

Yeah, she was her dad's kid.

"Little bit of everything, okay." Tori smiled and put numerous toppings on the pancakes and placed it in front of Kimberly. Next to the plate was a fork and a knife. "Did you want something to drink with that?"

Kimberly chewed on her lip some more. "Milk. It's supposed to make me extra healthy and strong for playing soccer and swimming . . . 'cept I'm scared of the water."

"Milk will make you strong, that's right." Tori smiled brightly. "For soccer and swimming, exactly. Why are you afraid of the water?" If she liked swimming, she shouldn't be afraid of the water.

"'cause Daddy is?" Kimberly frowned. "He gets all funny with his breathing every time I talk about wanting to go out in it, and tells me stories about sharks and tidal waves and killer seaweed."

"Right, I forgot that for a moment." Tori nodded. She shook her head. "The water isn't bad, as long as you make sure to be safe while in it."

"But Daddy says you never know what's in the water and even when you think it's safe it really isn't," Kimberly said dubiously. "With that funny look on his face. You know the one!"

"I know that funny look." Tori tried not to laugh. "But, the water can be fun and safe." She knew that for a fact. If she could, she'd live in the water.

"Did the water do something bad to Daddy, then?" Kimberly wanted to know. "'cause he's sooooooooooooooo scared of it."

"It might have, sweetie. It might have." Tori wondered about that. She didn't think it was a fun subject for Conner to talk about though. "Yeah, he is."

Kimberly crossed her arms over her chest. "Sometimes," she said in an uncanny imitation of Cam, "I wonder how you two ever got together."

Tori's eyes widened. It was a dead on impression. "Yeah, me too." And that was the sound of Tori's brain breaking.
