Annette was laying on the couch, nibbling on pretzels, watching her son play the Wii. He didn't seem to play any better than she did and she realized she had made a grave error in raising him. He just sat there, almost lifeless, trying to get the people to do what he wanted.

"Mommy! It's broken! Why did you buy a broken thing?"

"It's not broken, Sebastian, you just have to learn to play."

"Can't you help me?"

Annette sighed. "If I help you, I will kill your man. If you just punch a bunch of buttons really fast? It will work. Promise."

"Ah, Cally." Annette said, worried too. "I spoke to Mac ealier today about her. You haven't found her yet?" Which was obvious since Cally was here, asking for her.

Cally shook her head. "I've looked all over," she said. "I don't even know her name."

"And she is your kid, right?" Cause that could be an issue. Maybe.

"She seemed pretty convinced of that," Cally said. "And there was a bit of a resemblance."

"Well, um, did she mention the daddy? Maybe she's with the daddy." If the daddy went to school here or something. Maybe it was Anders. Annette just didn't know. And she couldn't really ask a question like that, could she?

Cally shook her head. "She didn't mention anything about a dad. She called me and Mac her moms, and when we got all confused she thought we didn't want her around and she left."

"Oh, man, the poor kid." Annette bit her bottom lip, thinking. "Mac said she was eight or nine. An eight or nine year old girl could not be found if she didn't want to be found. And that's probably not what you want to hear. She'll show up Cally. I'm sure of it."

Cally nodded. "I'm the worst mom ever."

"No, Cally. You're not. I mean geeze, we've just suddenly been given kids out of the blue. I mean mine is parked in front of the TV, probably going blind from trying to play the wii. And I haven't moved him yet. I'm not too bright in the mom department, myself."

"Yeah, but at least you kept track of yours. Mine could be... eaten by gremlins, for all I know," Cally said.

Oh, that just wasn't a good thought. Annette pursed her lips. "Um. I can help you look? And if she's your's and Mac's kid then she's pretty smart, right? I think she would be able to kick gremlin butt." Yeah.

"Hopefully," Cally said. "You need to look after your kid. I think... I'll just keep looking."

Annette nodded, "Okay. If I see her, I'll keep her with me, k? And call you quick."

"Thanks," Cally said. "I'm... gonna hit the streets."
