Third Floor Common Room -- Monday Morning

Sammy, Dawn and Jo all had class this morning, which left Dean more or less in charge of the entire tribe.

Having long ago learned the value of both television and food when looking after kids, Dean got them all down the hall to the common room and settled down in front of the tv watching cartoons as he cooked breakfast.

This was giving him deja vu to when he would do this for Sammy. Granted this was in bigger numbers, but it wasn't really that different.

[ooc: Open as common rooms are, there's probably enough food to feed people whose last name isn't Winchester too]

"Mom asks you that all the time." And as for the second question, he told her that all the time. It was just that she didn't listen.

"Your mother is a very smart person," Peter said, making a mental note about this to himself.

He really wasn't ready for this kind of thing. His son from the future was missing along with his girlfriend's bird, it seemed. Peter closed his eyes, rolled his head backwards, and took a deep breath. "Okay," he said. Then he opened his eyes and saw the ceiling. "Why is there a small girl on the ceiling?"

"She asked to be stuck there," May Anarchy told him. "I do it to her all the time back home and she LIKES it!"

"I'd better not see any more children on the ceiling or I'm going to have to confiscate your webshooter," Peter declared.

She rolled her eyes at him. He said that all the time, too. "I'll cry."

"I'll give you a tissue," Peter answered.

He really thought that he had more willpower than a little girl who grew up playing an older version of him like a fiddle.

May Anarchy started to wibble. "But Daddyyy..."

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
"It's not going to work," Peter said, suddenly finding that not looking the wibbling kid in the face was a good idea. "No more sticking people to ceilings, period."

[identity profile] weespiderpunks.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
"But-but-but, what if it's a supervillain trying to kidnap me?" Still with the wibbling.

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
"It's not going to happen here. We don't have supervillains here," Peter said, looking at the poor girl stuck to the ceiling.

"You said that about vacation last year, too, and look what happened then!" May Anarchy argued. "I had to be rescued by CAPTAIN AMERICA! And he swore at me!" At least part of this was a lie, and Captain America swore at her all the time.

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Captain America's still active in sixteen years?" Peter asked. "I would've thought one of the other Ultimates would have killed him by then."

Then Peter remembered that he was talking to a little girl. "Um. Not that people in that line of work die often or anything. It's really pretty safe, all things considered."

[identity profile] weespiderpunks.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
Now May was in full-out wibble mode. "It's okay, Daddy, I know you might die." Sniffle.

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Peter got down on his knees to talk to May more at her height. "I mean, sure, it's possible but that's the thing about being a superhero. Every time you go out there you get a bit better at it. In seventeen years I'll have so much experience not dying that the world would have to pretty much explode for anything to happen to me. And I'm sure that I wouldn't let anything happen to you, either."

He threw that one in for good measure. And, hey, he wasn't even thinking about the webshooters anymore. Look at that.

[identity profile] weespiderpunks.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
May flung herself at her dad and wrapped her arms around his neck. "I love you, Daddy."

Yep. She still had it.

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
"I... love you too?" Peter said, hugging May. That was so weird to say to a kid who wouldn't be born for a long time, but he still felt compelled to say it.

"Hey, once that girl is off the ceiling, let's go find your brother and get some ice cream."

[identity profile] weespiderpunks.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay," May Anarchy agreed. "He shouldn't be hard to find. Fish is LOUD."

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
"Trust me, I know that one," Peter said. "How much longer will she be up there?"

[identity profile] weespiderpunks.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
May calculated. "Maybe twenty minutes? But." She pointed to Parker. "Aunt Parker's here now, so can't we just go?"

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
With great power came great responsibility. On the other hand, with M. Parker came a great chance to pawn that responsibility off and get ice cream.

"Yeah, okay. Just let's go really quick before she tries to stop me and yell at me for letting you put people on ceilings."

[identity profile] weespiderpunks.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
May Anarchy didn't need to be told twice. She headed for the door immediately. Yay ice cream!
