Those students who moved in after the stables were added to the dorm building might not be accustomed to seeing a white horse with black spots in the common room.

Well, here's your chance to experience the wonder.

Pippi is fixing something to eat while little Walter and Leon ride Old Man in endless circles around the couch.

Walter was actually looking for Nadia and/or Bailey.

Pippi and kids would do for the moment because it would take creative torture for Walter to admit he really wanted to see his daughter.

"Busy kids."

"Hi Uncle Walter!"

"Hi Uncle Me!"

"They like to keep busy." Pippi said glancing back at them. "Hungry?"

"Hey Walter, Leon." Walter tilted his head at Pippi and grinned. "What do you think?"

"It's like having three kids." Pippi grinned back.

"How do you feel about Swedish meatballs?"

"What do you think?" Walter dug around in the fridge before finding an apple. "Have I disliked any of your cooking yet?"

Pippi nodded.

"There is that..." Pippi nodded moving the meatballs to a holding tray while she made the sauce from the lovely little bits in the pan.

"...I'm supposed to leave tomorrow."

"I know," Walter set the apple on the counter and drew his fingers over it, leaving it to fall into neat slices as his fingers pulled away.

"Pip, too."

"I got two votes for shanghing him... I guess... I could, take them with me too? Who knows... Maybe that's how we end up with them."

"Maybe," Walter said dubiously. "Or maybe if you take them with you, you and Pip in the future will be going crazy trying to find them."

He held out an apple slice for Old Man the next time his circuit of the room took his near Walter.

Old Man gratefully took the slice and plodded on with whooping and hooting.

"Probably..." she said. "But... They don't show signs of getting zipped back to where they came from... And... I can't just leave 'em here."

Walter watched the two children, and while he really wanted to help Pippi, he couldn't imagine trying to take care of those two along with Bailey (who'd been seemingly glued to her mother's side.)

"I don't know. If you leave me with some way to get in touch with you, I suppose I could let you know if the other kids start disappearing."

"I got The Doctor to fix my minicomp." Pippi said. "You should be able to contact me on that... I should probably get a Gee mail account or something huh?"

"Gee mail?" Walter felt pretty good about the computer skills he'd developed over the past year, but he didn't spend a lot of time exploring with it.

"It's where you go to get an email address when you don't have a school to give you one."

"Oh. Yes. I think you should, then." He wouldn't have much use for it where when he was going. "You'll be able to keep in touch with Pip and Nadia that way."

Pippi nodded.

"That's why I asked The Doctor to fix it, I figure if anybody could make it work soz I could get through even if I was stuck it'd be him..."

"He's useful that way," Walter agreed. "I won't have email when I go home, but if you can work out how to make a phone call, do."

"I think I'll be able to do it ya." Pippi nod it. "Make calls from it at least... I don't know if I could call into the past... Probably."

"I hope you can. I don't want to lose touch with my friends. And if you can stay in touch with Pip and Nadia and me, then we'll all be able to keep in touch, even if we have to use you as the intermediary."

"You better work out a secret code with Nadia.because I don't want to have to read your sexy letters to each other." Pippi smirked.

"That will be the challenge for us," Walter said, grinning. "We'll send each other letters in code without supplying the other person the key."

"You and Nadia have time to work it out even after I go." Pippi pointed out.

"I can't believe you're going and Pip's going and then I'm going...."

Walter held out another piece of apple for Old Man.

"And we have kids."

Once again the horse took a detour which didn't effect the whooping and hollering riders one bit.

"I know... I feel, a little better, I think. Because of that last bit."

On her way to find Mommy, Tributary got distracted. There was a horse in the common room. She walked straight up to it. "Hello!"

"Hi! Come on up!" Walter waved and held out her hand to Tributary.

Leon, who was "driving" scootched forward so there'd be room for a third rider.
