Third Floor Common Room, Monday Evening

After Hamlet's party, Rikku wandered into the third floor Common Room, fiddling idly with the TV thing and wondering if Hades had been making up those Jeopardy clouds after all.

She quickly got frustrated with the remote, which wasn't working at all, for no discernible reason. "What is wrong with you, anyway?!" she asked it angrily. "And why is nothing ever on? How can you have that many channels and all of them be boring? And where are those stupid Jeopardy clouds?! Was he just teasing?! Why don't I get to play with that fun question thing? Heyyyy ... did it just start??"

Rikku handed her the remote. "Do they malfunction often?"

"Do you have anything that needs to be replaced all the time where you're from?" Molly asked as she tested the remote before turning it over.

"You mean, stuff that breaks? Or some kind of a power source?"

'If you don't have batteries, what kind of power sources do you use?"

Molly pointed to the back of the remote and opened the battery compartment. "Do you see how I opened the little door?"

"Are they replaceable power sources? Doesn't that get expensive!?"

She nodded with a teasing smile. "Did you think I wasn't paying attention?"

"Would you believe that people don't even notice the cost?"

Molly pulled out the batteries and held them out to Rikku. "Have you ever seen anything like these in a store?"

"Do people here have a lot of money? Why is your money paper? Is it strange that we use gold?"

She examined the batteries. "Maybe I just don't remember them? What sort of store sells these?"

"Isn't gold heavy when you get a lot of it?"

"Have you ever been to Turtle & Canary?"

"Maybe the coins are only part-gold? Is gold worth a lot here? Is that why the conversion rate was so high? Uh, does that mean I'm rich?"

Rikku smiled. "Isn't that store fascinating? Did you notice that she tends to have whatever you're looking for?"

Molly grinned back. "Can you believe Ihaven't been in there in months?"

"If I did, would that mean I'm, like, wealthy or something? Would it be stupid of me to not tell anybody?"

She gasped. "Did something happen? Or have you just been too busy?"

"If you do have a lot of gold, would you really want people to know you're loaded?"

"What would you say if I told you that I forget to stop in there?"

"Would it be weird if I said it kinda felt like blood money? Or that I try not to spend it because ... it just seems wrong?"

She giggled. "What are the odds I'd just ask you another question?"
