Third Floor Common Room, Monday Evening

After Hamlet's party, Rikku wandered into the third floor Common Room, fiddling idly with the TV thing and wondering if Hades had been making up those Jeopardy clouds after all.

She quickly got frustrated with the remote, which wasn't working at all, for no discernible reason. "What is wrong with you, anyway?!" she asked it angrily. "And why is nothing ever on? How can you have that many channels and all of them be boring? And where are those stupid Jeopardy clouds?! Was he just teasing?! Why don't I get to play with that fun question thing? Heyyyy ... did it just start??"

[OOC: Open. Question game is in full effect, please come play! And the remote? The batteries are dead, she just doesn't know to check that.]

Evie nodded and said, "Has this ever happened around here before?"

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2007-04-24 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
"If it had, wouldn't I have heard about it?" Judging by the revelations of the last two days, no. "Are you okay? Was anything taken? If we find out who it was, do you want me to make them regret it?"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-04-24 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
"I wasn't there, but I think I'm mostly upset? And how would you make them regret it? Is it wrong that I want them to regret it, after I get my notes back?"

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2007-04-24 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
"How could that be wrong? Didn't they disturb your stuff and go into your room?" He patted her shoulder protectively. "And do you really want to know how I'd make them regret it?"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-04-24 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Aren't we supposed to be forgiving of misguided, horrible, awful people who deface our hard-written notes? Although, if they actually steal them, that's different, isn't it?" She sighed. "Will involve lots of pummeling?"

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2007-04-24 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Are we?" Jack was genuinely surprised. "And do you want it to involve pummelling? Or do you want something more unpleasant?"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-04-24 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, it is the Christian thing to do, isn't it? I mean, wouldn't you like to be forgiven, if you were sorry?" She cocked her head. "And would you be all right with some mild pummeling, and a good deal of shaking and shouting that I can help with?"

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2007-04-24 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Would you be surprised if I said, no, anyone who messes with my friends should be dropped out of the common room window and never forgiven under any circumstances?" Jack scowled around the room, then sighed, and made the effort to smile at her. "Do you think you could be satisfied with that?"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-04-24 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, if you can resign yourself to the second floor, or maybe the third, do you think?" Evie looked hopeful. "And I don't have a problme with you feeling like that, if you don't have a problem with me feeling the same? Although, do you think I'd need a running start to actually push someone out a window?"

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2007-04-24 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Are you going to warn them first? Wouldn't it be easier to push someone out a window it it was a surprise?" Jack studied her closely. "You're sure you're all right?"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-04-24 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
Evie beamed at him and nodded. "I didn't tell you the room was deserted, did I? Until Layla go there? And do you really think I could surprise someone? You don't think I'd knock something over on accident before I got there?"

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2007-04-24 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Do you think you could? Do you think you would?" he asked, relaxing because she was obviously fine. "And have you been avoiding me?" He grinned, obviously teasing. "How long has it been since I saw you?

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-04-24 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
"How can you think that?" Evie demanded, fists on hips. "And whose little boy did you have with you in Fairy Tales last week? How soon do you forget we have every Monday together, you silly boy?"

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2007-04-24 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Don't people usually mean talk when they say saw? How long has it been since we talked? You're not going to hurt me are you? Wouldn't that be cruel? And who's do you think it was?"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-04-24 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
"And if they do, is that correct grammar? And I don't know, how long do you think it's been, a few weeks, perhaps?" Evie made a face at him. "Are you in a silly mood tonight? And was that little boy yours and Cedric's, like I thought I overheard? How on Earth does that work?"

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2007-04-24 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
"You think a few weeks is okay? You didn't think I missed you? When am I not?" he asked, tugging on her hair. "And you think I know?! Would you believe magic and time travel apparently don't mix?"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-04-24 06:56 am (UTC)(link)
Evie batted at his hand and gave him *look*, then shook her head. "Then shall I take you out for coffee this week, so we can catch up? You will do that before you leave, won't you? And I'd say they'd mixed *very* well, if a little boy was the result, wouldn't you?"

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2007-04-24 07:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Wasn't he something?" Jack got a wistful, far-away look on his face. "Did I tell you his name? And that he was a wizard? When will you take me out for coffee? And did I tell you I leave in three weeks?"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-04-24 07:04 am (UTC)(link)
"What was his name? And perhaps Thursday, after my Finals? Do you think I will flunk them now? Oh, dear."

And exam and Jack-missage combined to break the Jeopardy cloud over Evie, and she gave Jack a mournful look. "Drat."
