Third Floor Common Room, Saturday Afternoon

At some point, Wyatt grew bored with the blocks and orbed out of Chris's room into the common room. The TV had some cartoons on, but Wyatt changed the channel. Anyone observing might note he wasn't using the remote to do it.

He found a channel with a movie about dragons on it and clapped in delight. He liked dragons. He wanted a dragon. So he started to call it out of the TV.

But as luck would have it, he took a step backwards and stepped on the actual remote control, changing the channel to a popular children's show. And what he called out of the TV wasn't exactly a dragon.

It was a singing purple dinosaur. "I love you, you love me, we're a happy family. With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you, won't you say you love me too?"


[Open, of course. Based on canon, but Barney wasn't entirely my idea. *bats eyes innocently* ;) ]

Anders, in his ongoing futile quest to hunt down wee Bel and wee Phoebe, had stopped by his room long enough to grab a few things -- like his baseball action figures and his stuffed orca -- that might hopefully keep them occupied.

Stopping into the third floor common room to check wouldn't be a bad idea, right?

Maybe not.

"Oh my dear frakking lords, what is that thing?"

"I love you, you love me, we're best friends like friends should be. With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you, won't you say you love me too?"

"That's just terrifying that you know the lyrics," Anders said, staring at the dinosaur. "Where did you get that -- who are you?"

Door toddles into the room looking for entertainment. Or sweets. Or entertaining things to do with sweets. She stares up at the.... thing.

"Are you a monster?"

"I like red it's the color of an apple

Green it's the color of the trees and lots of living things

"I'm Wyatt, silly," Wyatt said. "And I made him!"

The dinosaur sang to Door as an answer.

"Wyatt," Anders said with a shake of his head. "Of course. Should've known . . . you made him?!?"

Door considers this. "'r you a singy monster?"

Wyatt nodded and pointed to the TV. "Out of there!"

"I sing to make little children happy," the dinosaur said. "Do you want a hug?"

"Because something that scary can only come out of the TV." It made perfect sense, really. Anders sighed. "You haven't seen your aunt anywhere, have you? She's about this tall right now." He held a hand above the ground at about the height Phoebe was at the moment.

Summer wanderd by the common room after detention. She stopped and stared when she spotted something weird. "What is that?"

"Nuh uh," Wyatt said, shaking his head.

The dinosaur toddled over to Anders. "You look you need a hug!" it said.

"Barney is a dinosaur from our imagination
And when he's tall
he's what we call a dinosaur sensation

Barney's friends are big and small
they come from lots of places
after school they meet to play
and sing with happy faces."

The dinosaur sang to Summer.

"Don't fink you can," Door points out. "You gots a big head an' lil tiny arms."

"Okay," Summer said, blinking. She was mildly terrified.

That seemed to give the dinosaur hysterical laughter pause. "You can hug me!" it said.

"How about a hug?" the dinosaur said, holding out its arms.

Summer backed away slightly. "No, I'm good."

Anders choked and clutched his Red Sox and Dodgers action figures a little more tightly. "No, that's okay, I'll really, really pass."

Wyatt saw the action figures and held out his hands. "Toys!" he said.

And so the action figures orbed out of Anders's hands and into Wyatt's clutches.

It's a sad thing to see a giant purple dinosaur pout. "Do you want to sing a song with me?" it said.

Stark had stayed in his room for the morning, and hadn't spotted anyone in his common room (hey, he only has one eye and most of them are very small) and so had decided to come upstairs to see if anyone (or any food) was around.

When he saw the giant purple thing, he realized he may have made a mistake in coming here.

"Hey, those are mine!" objected Anders. "What are you gonna do with them? You have any idea how hard it was to get a hold of that Nomar figure?"
