Platypus Campfire, Evening

Isabel had started a fire and was currently roasting a marshmallow to a perfect degree of doneness. Chocolate and graham crackers sat nearby for s'mores. And there were plenty for sharing.

...And there was Sokka, food senses tingling.

"Hi! Izzy, right? Do you have enough there to share?" he asked, as he set about finding a good roasting stick.

"More then enough Sokka," Isabel smiled as she tossed the bag of marshmallows towards him.

"SWEET!"

Sokka skewered five marshmallows onto a nice forked stick and held it over the fire.

"So... how are you liking workshops and stuff?" he asked. Hey, it was conversation, right?

Tori happened to be walking back from town and was taking the 'long' way back to her cabin. She just happened to pass by the Platypus campfire and noticed Isabel was there.

"Hey Isabel." Tori smiled and waved. "How's it going?"

"Workshops are fun," she said, eyeing the sugar Sokka was roasting. "I just wish I didn't have three in one day."

"Hey Tori!" Isabel waved back. "Want a marshmallow?"

"THREE in one day?!?! I've got two tomorrow, and I thought that was bad!"

Sokka's sugar was in various stages of roasting. One of the marshmallows furthest from the fire was just turning the perfect shade of golden on one side -- still uncooked on the other -- when the one on the very tip of the stick caught fire.

"YAAAGH!" Sokka yelped, and blew it out.

"Oh, sure. Thanks!" Tori grinned brightly.

"Yeah, I picked classes out of a hat," Isabel admitted. "I never thought to look at what days they were on. So my Mondays are insane, then I have nothing to do till Friday."

Her marshmallow was perfect so Isabel neatly stacked the marshmallow, chocolate and graham crackers together.

"How's it feel to be a graduate?" she asked, tossing the bag of marshmallows over. "Are you leaving? Or sticking around for the summer?"

"It feels kind of strange, I feel like I should still be in school or something." Tori admitted. "I'll be here for the whole summer." She explained, happy at that thought.

Especially with the way things were going with Luke.

Pam wandered out. "Ooh, campfire!" she said. "And marshmallows! It's all...summery!"

"Oh, hey, that's a good idea!" Sokka says, watching her. "That's almost like the smure things the Chef makes!" He happily follows suit.

"I managed to get two workshops I hadn't signed up for," he added. "I don't know how THAT happened."

"Hey!" Sokka called, waving cheerfully. "Got any more candy?"

"Oh that's great. I had a blast here last summer. We had huge party on Fourth of July," Isabel told her. "I think I'll see about doing it again this year. You and Luke will enjoy it I'm sure." Yes, Isabel listens to radio.

"It's a cabin tradition," Isabel grinned. "By the time we move back to the dorms you'll be sick of them and the smell of woodsmoke."

"Oh, yeah?" Tori smiled. "Sounds like it will be lots of fun." And that totally caused Tori to blush. "I'm starting to wonder who didn't hear about it on the radio." Not that she minded one bit.

"Sadly no," Pam said, frowning. "And still no kids like me."

Isabel wasn't going to argue. Instead she added a dash of Tabasco to her S'more, bit into it and smiled.

"I have one I wouldn't have willingly signed up for if I'd realized who the teacher was. I'm not sure I'm going to survive."

"If being sick of marshmallows is my future, then I want to die at sixteen," Pam sighed.

"It is, last summer I taught Cedric how to boogie board, then there was fireworks. It was great."

She laughed, "Very few people don't listen to radio. Even when they get things totally wrong, it's still worth listening to just for laughs."

"It's only a temporary thing," she laughed. "By the time we come back, if we come back like we did last summer, you'll be craving them again."

"So if you were here last year, are you a senior? Or a junior like me?" she asked.

"I've been here for a year and a half now," Isabel told her. "I'm supposed to be a senior in the Fall."

"Which one? Are you in Deadpool's class with me?" He smirked. "I made it through Monday with nothing worse than a noogie."
